As for the connectors, and lights...They were battery connections, and the ad says the battery was just replaced...maybe they replaced the connections as well. As for the lights, also living in NH, that is something we have to do at inspection time. In NH any light above the factory headlights...
Thanks for the comments everyone...I had to take a last minute trip, and didn't get to stay very involved in the thread. After reading it looks like the LC is coming out ahead. I'll give a bit more background on what I'm looking for. This is going to be a multi use vehicle. We will be using...
Hi all...The wife and I are looking at replacing our current truck (an older Infiniti QX56). We are in the very early stages of thinking about this, but at the moment we are thinking the budget will be about $40K. I'm fairly set on a Toyota that has good aftermarket support. So it looks like...

Thanks for the info. We ended up finding a LivinLite 14XLP, for a great price. it doesn't have the living space the Alpha does, but hopefully being all aluminum, and having no wood anywhere in the construction it should last us a while.
If it has the tow package, then there is still a very large trans cooler up front...If it doesn't have the tow package, then I believe it still has another cooler, but not as large. In the vain of @broncobowsher there are aftermarket aluminum radiators that solved the issue, and that is the...
I've got 2010 QX56 (basically the exact same rig, just with different front body work), with about 150,000K on it. Its a pretty rock solid rig. There will be plenty of little things that will need repaired, but the power train is pretty solid. I would find out if the transmission cooler in...
Tow rig has a 9K tow rating, so weight isn't an issue for either of these, aside from better MPG/Less wear. Yes, the Quicksilver is only about 1,000 lbs. where the Alpha is about 2,000 lbs.
I've been looking at "pop up" type campers for my family for a little while now, and I've got it narrowed down to these two. We are a family of four with one kid being about 6 and the other about 2 plus a small dog with a budget max of $10K (Although honestly we will probably wait till next...

It kinda depends on your budget, most of the real iconic off-road SUVs are luxury vehicles: Toyota 200 series Land Cruiser, Mercedes G-Wagon, Land Rover...
That is my one concern with a lot of those type of pop-up, even though they are "off-road" models, they aren't built to handle anything more than the highway. I think the Opus, Black Series, and Livin Lite would be where I would focus.
@sb.reno I'm in the same spot as you (although with a lower budget) Also what ages are your kids? There is a big difference between a 5 year old and a 15 year old when it comes to accommodations. Here is what I've been looking at:

Maybe switching to the Timbren bump stops would be a good plan with what I'm thinking, that way there is more of a progressive "stopping" of the swing arm instead of the "hard stop" of the factory unit.
I've been doing some thinking about the air suspension on my 2010 QX56, and I wanted to run my thought by some other people to see if I'm missing something. I like having the air suspension in the truck; it rides nice, and obviously adapts the truck to different load outs. My thought though...
I can't afford the trailer (wish I could), but I'd love to find out where you wheel & camp. I'm in S.NH as well (Derry), and haven't found many places to go.
