More ponderings on a truck shell camper. AC in a hi top?

as an aside - have you thought about a TopperEZLift? Its the route I'm headed with my Tacoma. $2000 - $200 for vet/military if it applies, and it comes with the tent sides/door stuff. I've often wondered if the smallest RV AC unit I can find would also work on a camper/canopy shell. Have...

    Ozark Weekend Adventures.

This is about the spot i came out of the river: 35.587830938828915, -93.01243354209352 Unsure where the powerline trail was; was just following the group lead. Wasn't but 20 minutes from that spot, above, though.

    Ozark Weekend Adventures.

A couple weeks ago I was part of a 15-truck/jeep group in the Ozarks; camping and wheeling. While this is not a comprehensive report, it was a great weekend and one where I decided to live in the moment vs capture everything. My girlfriend and i camped on a sleep platform in the bed, elevated...

    Front Locker is it needed?

As been mentioned a bit - 'need' is a funny word. Years ago my mom was looking for a pick-up to haul a trailer. While shopping she mentioned she wanted a 2wd. When I asked why she is not looking at 4wd trucks she said "We will never use it. It would be a waste. We don't need it." Fast...

First time out after nearly a decade of wanting to try it

Thank you very much for the feedback and suggestions! Cheers, Ace. Much-appreciated. Europe was great and i loved the experience but i am kinda happy to be home; where i can get out there and unplug without so many restrictions and rules. :)

First time out after nearly a decade of wanting to try it

Enroute to the next campsite - I took a little path/road branching off the main road and found what looked like a former homestead - plumbing piping still rising from the foundations. Also had this...maybe root cellar? Day 2 camp - just off the main dirt road - but up a little hill to...

First time out after nearly a decade of wanting to try it

I've been on this forum for years. I joined the forum when i had my old truck - 2006 Expedition on 34" tires, slick bumper, whinch and all that. As i grew into my desire for overlanding (read: Driving off road then pulling over to camp somewhere), i was sure the tacoma was the platform i...

Month Long Roadtrip - Texas to the West

just a perfect adventure! Did you have any trouble in NM - just googling their 'tourist' stuff what with closures and all that. Am a little worried even stopping for gas with out of state plates could get me in trouble with the constabulary.
