I am in the process of overhauling / bulletproofing my 2004 Ford F150 XLT SuperCab 4x4 with the dreaded 5.4L 3V Triton V8. A CAI and tuner are part of the build.
The truck currently sits on a set of Rancho QuickLift 2.5" lift struts with F150 7700 model heavy duty coils, and RS9000 shocks front / rear. Wheels are ProComp 17x9 and are fitted with 35x12.50/17 mud tires that are honestly too big for the amount of lift I have. WIll downsize to equivalent to 33x12.50/17 in BFGoodrich All Terrain TAs once I get to the point of needing tires.
Truck is equipped with a Go Rhino winch mount / brush guard and has a Engo E9000 winch with a roller fairlead and roller fairlead license bracket. Old School Pro Comp stainless steel off road lights are mounted up front for now, to be replaced by an LED light bar at some point down the road.
I am interested in building a fixed room fiberglass / foam, or if I can manage well insulated soft sides, a pop up design is fine. slide in type camper for this truck to allow me to get down the beach, or through various logging roads to get to where I want to go. Looking for advice on a DIY overlanding camper build.
