Project Nomad: 1986 GMC Jimmy Sierra Classic

This project too came to an end in my hands however this is how the old K5 looks now...running a new body in the form of a '56 Chevy Belair

    1986 GMC S-15

Finally got up to date on this. Looks like you have made a fair bit of progress over the past year or so. Ended up getting rid of pretty much all my 4wd projects (Blazer and Jeep) only to end up with a '78 F150 from my father in law and buying back my old '99 Astro AWD. The Jimmy in my avatar...

'00 Chevy Astro Cargo stealth Camper project

Funny how things go...I ended up selling the second Astro in 2020 to cover some bills but have recently bought it back from the guy i sold it to. I will be bringing it home around the 14th. In the time he had it the following things had been done: New power steering lines and cooler Limo...

    Its a Bitza Jeep!

Ended up trading my jeep to a close friend of mine. It has changed a ton since he got it.

    Its a Bitza Jeep!

Its the not knowing exactly how much lift if any the front springs are providing at this point would be the biggest reason for swapping out the fronts. From some angles, it looks level and from others, it looks like it's higher in the rear. Other than that that would be the core reason for a...

    Its a Bitza Jeep!

The rear springs are brand new same as the bushings in them. Since I have the part numbers for them I might just swap out the front ones for another pair of the same and use the fresh set of bushings that came with the jeep to finish them out. At that stage, I would be at the point of having a...

    1986 GMC S-15

Should look good on a solid axle. When I picked up my current jeep I ended up buying back my old S10 Blazer from the same friend I bought the Jeep from. I am kicking around the idea of doing a SAS on the S10 possibly with a YJ front axle. Ironically enough if I do go that route I will more then...

    1986 GMC S-15

Finally got all caught up with this thread. Quite the transformation seeing it with the pop up camper!

    Its a Bitza Jeep!

First off to explain the title... The jeep I have has a mix of parts from a '92 and a '94 YJ in it. Not entirely too sure what parts belong to what as it was painted in Bedliner at some point as well. I guess that they took two red YJs and built one out of the two. None the less it is what it...

'00 Chevy Astro Cargo stealth Camper project

The Astro is a weird mix of parts lol Some S10 bits like the engine/trans and front diff. In the 2wds the front suspension is basically B body. As you pointed other parts are 1500 pick up parts. Good to know about that second bend. So basically bend mine to clear the sump and that is it. Will...

'00 Chevy Astro Cargo stealth Camper project

I knew that was a common mod in the GMT400 series pickups. Did not know it worked on the Astro vans as well. Will def look into it! Thanks for the pic of the skid plate. I am assuming the key hole looking opening in the middle is for the oil pan drain plug and the large cut out at the end is to...

By Suburban/2500 brakes i am assuming you mean the calipers from them on the front brakes? Also how did you get around the power steering line being close to the pulleys? Well i guess that is assuming you have the Hydraboost brakes and not vacuum.

I would def like to see the skid plate you have on your Astro! Great looking rig how much lift and tire size on it?

'00 Chevy Astro Cargo stealth Camper project

Due to a change in job situation and a slow economy i ended up selling the K5 and almost ended up selling this to try to keep the newer truck that was my DD. However i have since decided to surrender the truck as i suspect i will just end up in the same position again in a few months. Better to...

    Questions about the Montero Sport

Ok good to know! So it is the truck based rig that happens to share nameplate. Aka the Challenger in Australia. Or as you pointed out it is the Sport.
