    Progress on my FG

Well I finally got my differential back with its new ring, pinion, and bearings installed. If your in or near Portland,OR and need drivetrain work I highly recommend Six States. They crushed it. brought them the diff and parts the dealer had finally ordered and they had it rebuilt within 24 hrs...

4D34 seeking tips on cleaning Injection pump gauze filter

Hmm ok I guess that would make sense. The manual clearly illustrates the upper one so I didn’t think to look for it in the lower bolt but that would make more sense.

4D34 seeking tips on cleaning Injection pump gauze filter

Ok so I want to clean the gauze filter on the side of my injection pump this is the zexel pump on a 1998 4d34. repair manual says just loosen banjo bolt and remove but when I start backing the bolt out I run out of room before it is fully threaded out. See pic. Should I have to remove the...

    Fuso FG camper for sale

I wonder if you would be better off parting out your camper and then selling the truck for less? Just shooting from the hip here... Its a sweet rig and I don't doubt your price as fair but it seems maybe your in between two markets at that price. On one side the upper end Fuso camper shopper who...

Got a Fuso. It was sweet. Then it broke.

Thanks for the input. Aussie Iron, I'll put it behind me and enjoy my canter when I get my differential back! still waiting on parts. Also I don't want to blow up another one so understanding why this happened is important to me. If the tires were the cause which sounds more and more likely...

Got a Fuso. It was sweet. Then it broke.

Update/new question... I just measured the diameter of my front tires Vs. my rear tires. The PO had a different tire mounted up front than in the back and even though they're all labeled 285 85R16 the fronts measure 31.5 and the rears measure 30. I wasn't wildly precise w/ my measuring so for...

    Progress on my FG

Thanks Kerry and SkiFreak for the tips. The hub issue is still unresolved as I haven't attempted to reassemble them until I get my Diff back and go to it putting the whole axle back together. I'm assuming it was the result of corrosion on the sprocket surfaces due to non-use. I don't have a...

    Progress on my FG

Put in 8 hours from concept to paint on this bumper build today. What say ye? I'm happy with the outcome as it utilized material on hand as rems from other projects. Only thing I had to go out for was paint and of course a sandwich. I will be adding a front receiver to this at some point. I have...

Got a Fuso. It was sweet. Then it broke.

hubs definitely were not functioning as designed. If they had been I would have been able to disconnect from a blown front diff by un-locking my hubs and shifting transfer case to 2hi. Since Tcase was shifting properly but hubs were not un-locking I couldn't dis-engage my lunched front diff and...

Got a Fuso. It was sweet. Then it broke.

Hey jhrodd, thanks for the offer! I always welcome an excuse to head to Bellingham, alas doesn't sound like it would get me far. My diff is currently at the Fuso shop in Portland so they can order parts. Anyone here ever have Portland Mitsubishi Fuso work on their truck?

Got a Fuso. It was sweet. Then it broke.

Thanks again for the input FusoPeople. Aussie Iron, I've been thinking about the axle wash. Seems like its going to be kind of a PITA, trying to decide if I should pull the whole axle or if I could achieve sufficient cleaning with it under the truck.

Got a Fuso. It was sweet. Then it broke.

Good point Verkstad. This is my first time working inside a Differential. Still trying to learn the names for the different gears. The gears I was referring to would be more accurately called the side gears and differential pinion gears I believe.

Got a Fuso. It was sweet. Then it broke.

Thanks for the feedback. Some good points here, esp. about maintenance to the hubs and possible improper assembly. The PO did say he had the brakes done recently and there is fresh looking looking grease on the spindles. Pads do look recent also to support that. Quite possible the hubs were...

Got a Fuso. It was sweet. Then it broke.

Greetings, After deciding a Fuso FG fit my needs for a work truck I lurked hard on this forum and learned much. I found a '98 FG with 77k on the odo, took a risk on the rust situation and flew to Ohio to buy it. I live in Washington state and drove it home. 2500 mi. PO was using it as a service...
