    WTB - Honda Element AWD

Thanks for the input but I think this will do what we want it to do, which is to have a boxy thing that my wife can sleep in when we are camping, and the Element is the platform she wants. Not looking for a true 4wd of any sort at this point - been there, done that for 16 years, not keen to do...

    WTB - Honda Element AWD

Looking for a Honda Element AWD, auto trans. Clean, low(er) miles, and good shape is a must. Absolutely no wreck/rebuilds, salvage, etc. Open to stock or camper-converted with the pop-top roof. They are pretty rare here in Michigan, so any leads would be appreciated. Info by PM works fine.

    Roadless Gear Dashboard Winch Control

SOLD Roadless Gear Dashboard Winch Control. I ordered it in 2011, and it has lived in a box, unused, since that time. Sold the winch, so no use for it now. Here's the link to RG's site: http://www.roadlessgear.com/Jeep/dash-mounted-winch-control. $25 shipped CONUS. Paypal is fine, or MO...

    Wedco non-carb gas cans

Mods: I guess this post pertains to storage, but if there is better place to move this, by all means feel free to do so. Thanks! ******************** So, I have been out of the game and off the site for a while now, and am trying to get back up to speed. What is the going rate for new...

Is this a decent recovery setup?

A few thoughts to add: 1. Winches are not the end-all of recovery gadgets. They serve a distinct purpose, but they generally hard-mounted to the front of the vehicle and in that configuration can only fix certain problems. Some years back we were traveling solo and crossing ice, and the front...

Is this a decent recovery setup?

I never found the hi-lift to be terribly useful in my travels. In fact, I am meeting a guy in an hour to sell the jack and my collection of hi-lift gear. In a similar move, I sold my winch last week; in fifteen years of Jeep ownership and backcountry travel, the winch only ever got used for...

    An Axe - Seriously?

There are a lot of places where you cannot or should not bring your firewood with you, due to concerns of spreading pests (notably Emerald Ash Borer) into areas yet unaffected by it. So an ax, saw, etc, comes in handy. I haven't found a lot of use for an ax, but at least one person in the...

Military/Wedco style fuel cans at Major Surplus & Survival

I wondered about those "style" cans when I first saw them. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they're crap. It is a damned and silly shame that .gov got into the business of meddling with gas cans. Luckily I bought a bunch of surplus NATO and Scepter cans, and a stash of new red Wedco...

Why does "size matter" in N.America???

I think it a shame that we are deprived of the option of buying a durable, simple, smaller-size truck or SUV here in the US. I understand that some of the complexity comes as a byproduct of government meddling (tire pressure sensors, emissions controls, air bags, etc.), but even setting that...

What is the best way to remove the windsheild hinge bolts?

2002 TJ, 110k of Michigan roads and salt, and the bolts came out no problem and threads were clean and rust-free. Some LockTite blue was on the upper two bolts on the side of the hinge, nothing on the lower one.
