    SSR 140CC china bike

Great build. I will definitely be referring back to this one for some ideas for my 125TR-BW. Even considering picking up another! Great work on your bike!

12v Power - Batteries and Inverters

Home Depot has this generator for $158 as well now. Santa brought mine yesterday and I gave it a quick use today with mild loads and it seems to work really well. I used it to charge some 12v batteries but the smart charger was only drawing about 100 watts since they were all nearly fully charged.

12v Power - Batteries and Inverters

I've been charging the big battery at home. If I take it tailgating or on a trip, it is fully charged before we leave. I have not had to charge the battery yet because I haven't had enough load for a long enough time. It was plenty enough without recharging for what I used it for at Overland...

12v Power - Batteries and Inverters

Well dang. They must have sold out. The price was still available yesterday when I posted the link but it's gone now. For that price I was willing to buy to see if it will fit my needs because it wouldn't be much of a loss if it didn't.

12v Power - Batteries and Inverters

Yeah it should work great for that. I will probably bring ours on the boat when we decided to go island camping. Lot easier to load a 25# generator in and out of the boat and haul through sand than a 100# battery.

12v Power - Batteries and Inverters

For the last few years I have been using a 4D industrial battery as a "generator" for camping, tailgating, etc. The 4D is a little heavy but if you are camping in or from a vehicle or don't have to carry it too far it's not too bad. I've been using a 500 watt inverter and that has been plenty...

    2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2

I really like the idea of this truck but I just can't see it if the price is near Raptor territory. I'm honestly just happy that they delivered on the diesel at all. Local dealer has a few diesel Canyons that I want to go take a look at but they all sticker for over 40k and aren't fully loaded...

    Midland MXT100 GMRS Mini Review

Glad to see a review on this radio. I'm really happy that something like this finally came to market. I would love to see these replace CB on the trail. Smaller antennas and higher gain, FM clarity, and similar if not higher range, not to mention no ANNOYING SKIP should really put these ahead of...

    Quick removal cb setup?

If your trail riding companions are anything like what I have seen, the lil will should be sufficient to reach to the front and rear of a caravan. Personally, I prefer not using mag mounts because they are easily knocked off by brush on our trails. SSB with the same antenna will get out much...

    Quick removal cb setup?

No doubt there. I do agree that it is always a good idea to have direct power to the battery for any radio equipment. Honestly, I am not sure how much use you will get out of SSB anyway and the 980 is regarded to have excellent stability whereas other units could be notorious for drift. Some of...

    Quick removal cb setup?

Cig lighter plug is more than sufficient for the 980SSB. I had that same radio awhile back, I don't recall it putting out more than about 15 watts at the most on SSB. That is a minuscule amount of power to draw. Even if you say that to make 15 it is drawing 30, that is still less than 3 amps at...

    Haming it up finally

I like both of those radios. I have two FT-60s and had a TM-281. Probably should have kept the Kenwood. Dead simple and reliable.

    Haming it up finally

Congrats. Playing on 2m or 10 also?

You were crossing back and forth though my stomping grounds for sure.

What vehicles make the best Expedition platforms?

Over my last 30 fillups of my Xterra with 33" All Terrains and a 2" lift, I averaged 15 mpg. I'd consider the driving 50/50 mixed. Highway was about the same. City would drop down as low as 13. I did like mine for the utility of it, but after converting to 33's, it really needed a gear change. I...
