Auto 4.0 Cherokees of this vintage are 3.55 and move along quite well. Manuals are 3.07 and are dogs by comparison. I daily drove a manual for a dozen years. Waaayy too high gearing.

Is there a plan to use the 7.3 in the new Raptor? A lot of Raptor folks seem to be lamenting the lack of a V8. I guess it’s the sound they miss. Sick looking truck BTW. Method makes the best looking wheels.

If you’re getting 13.5 then you’re within 2 of my 7.3 diesel. You’re burning a much less expensive fuel too, at least where I live. So I’d say you’re doing really well. Back in the day our neighbor had an old school 4 X 2 Chevy dually with a 454 built for torque and a non locking 3 speed...

I wish TFL Truck would do a side by side comparison of the 7.3 vs the 6.7 Stroke. Time them up the Ike. Same trailer. Let the gasser have the 4.30’s. My guess is the Powestroke wins. By less than 30 seconds. 5 Star might change that outcome.

I think this 7.3 with the 10 speed is going to surprise a lot of people. Sure, it’s only half the torque output of the diesel but the power is nearly the same and that 10 speed is going to keep it in its sweet spot at all times. 20 years ago when we only had 3 and 4 speed automatic...

I guess I never read the 850 lbs. occupants plus cargo rating on the sticker. I’ve loaded my ‘13 JKUR down very heavily and then threw an XR650R on the hitch mount on top of that. Other than the headlights pointing up in the trees it did fine. LOL.
