It’s been a few months since I have made any updates. New motorcycle, pandemic, and life got in the way.
I am happy to report that my canopy camper from Alu-Cab is on a boat with a 4/15 port date.
Now with everything going on, I am not too excited that I’ll even get a glimpse of this until...
No delivery date or estimations. Just patiently waiting. I am hoping to have it before Memorial Day, but I don’t know.
And it will be going on the gladiator.
I may try to do the door flip myself, I don’t think the strut cylinder is needed because I won’t have my 37” hanging off the door. Just...
Same thing happened to me. I am actually disappointed that Alu-Cab refuses to adjust to the North American market. Same thing with the door swing. I wish they would listen to the customers who are spending good money on their products.
In my very unscientific method, I calculated the power draw from my empty (pre-chilled) National Luna 52 to draw down at 1.1% or less per hour in 75 degrees without opening and closing the lid.
For example it went 25 hours on battery alone and had 73% battery life left or 1.08% drain per hour.
I received my PLB40 last night!
I hooked it up to AC and plugged my National Luna 52 (empty) via dc.
Charged the battery to 100% and then disconnected battery from AC.
I will report back on the battery run time on an empty fridge.
For the awning, I have the alu cab shadow 270 and love it! Easy and quick set up, no poles and guy lines to mess with.
It is heavy, and expensive, but it’s the best quality. They do make wall kits for it, and you can also attach tent awnings via Velcro to it.
How do you guys strap down your PLB40 for trailriding? That seems to be the only downside from me pulling the trigger on one. I am finally converting from cooler and like what I am hearing about the plb40 and fridge w/solar combos
