WTB Land Rover 88" canvas hood

Looking for an 88" full canvas to convert to a surrey top. Condition of side and rear flaps not too important, but it would be nice if the top panel and straps were in good shape. Please let me know if you have anything.

    1969 Series II...so tempting

Those look like NADA deluxe seats that have been reupholstered. Same for the dash pad. Wheels look to be the original that have been galvanized.

    RRC: LWB vs SWB

I've owned both. The SWB looks better, the LWB is easier to live with. They are both great trucks, but I really liked the 4.2 in my LWB; it was downright peppy by land rover standards.

About to take the plunge - 2001 Range Rover

OK, I'll chime in here. I've owned a few land rovers over the years. I bought a '96 P38 when my '95 lwb was killed by a semi. I really wanted another lwb, but couldn't find the right one. The P38 turned out to be a very comfortable truck and now has 279K on the clock and climbing. Here's what it...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

Thanks. The rack is a Brownchurch. The feet were set up for a 90, so I moved the rear feet just a bit to clear the alpine window. Really didn't need to, but didn't like the look of the legs in front of the window.

    Mid Atlantic Rally ( MAR) - Who's going ?

The trails (Pearls' Pond anyway) tend to be along bottom land. Soft, sandy, often muddy. No rocks to speak of. Some pretty good hill climbs.

    Mid Atlantic Rally ( MAR) - Who's going ?

I'll be there...haven't missed one yet. Wander, try some 33s on your series truck, you won't need an overdrive and it'll go like a goat.

    Series III daily driver/short trips?

I used an 88 as a DD for a couple of years, logging about 30k a year. For your short commute I'd get rid of the subaru in a second. Carry a set of points, a starter solenoid, some axles and go anywhere in confidence. In 27 continuous years of series land rover ownership I have never had to call...

    Nitto Terra Grappler 255 - 55 - 18 anyone?

I've got them on my P38. They have held up very well. Slightly more noise than the original michelins but not bad.

"Late" Series III Axles and Lockers

Racingjason, I have 1 ton (aka NAS 110) steel wheels on my 88. Try part # ANR1534PM. No problem with radials. The offset improves turning radius significantly. They are hard to come by on this side of the pond, so best to source while you are in the UK. I think Britpart does a knock-off.

    Introduction Post

Casey, I'm awaiting a custom defender bumper you're working on now. Mary sent pics yesterday and it looks great. Can't wait to see it in person. Thanks, Cabell
