Can you get any measurments of the trailers you are looking at? That is really going to be the deciding factor. I think its a great idea. This is what i am thinking of. I have not taken any measurements so i am not sure it will fit. I know I could probably build a narrow version of this.

I hated driving the deuce and a halfs and five tons when i was in, especially off road I couldnt imagine doing an extended trip in one. The exhaust is so loud and they just plain beat you up. I think it is really cool some of the stuff guys are doing to them.

I really wish i would have known about overlanding when i was stationed in Germany. Instead I raced bicycles which was awesome initself but I would have definitely went to morocco. oh well its still not to late. Germany is an awesome place i hope you have a great tour there.

The front boxes might snag some rocks depending on where you take the truck. I have never been to Maine so I might be way off. Here in CA some trails can have some very difficult rock and rutt obstacles that might damage that type of Box. If the boxes are removable definitely keep the stake...

WOW lots of crashes this year....What was the driver of the camera car thinking. YOu got to hand it too Hoogerland for getting up after that crash and wearing polka dots. Yesterdays sprint was awesome too. Lets hope the crashes are over with, they have had enough this tour.
