The Dinette table drops down to the bed level. The cushions from the Dinette infill the area completely. The area is 71" L x 35-1/2" W. I'm 6'-0" tall and I've slept on it diagonally. It was great. I'll let you decide as it relates to children.
It is my understanding that the front axle is open and lockable. The transfer case has the high-low option. I hope that this info helps answer your question.
The aluminum stairs were designed, engineered and built by ALUMINESS. They are stored under the cabin and they lock into place. They are deployed manually. Here is a photo:
The chassis is rated at 33,000 GVWR. We weighed our rig loaded with fuel, water and gear and it came in at +/- 26,000 lbs.
Sorry, but I do not have the weight of each axle.
I'm sure that if the spare is relocated, one could modify the rear rack to hold a 300# motorcycle.
