I don't have any pics of placement handy, but my 101cdn has a steel lid and old Technitop RTT on it, total weight would be roughly 200 lbs.
A pair of 150 lbs struts opens it hands free, and takes some effort to close.
I hauled a race bike around in my M101cdn for a while.
It did the job but it was less than ideal and the loading was sketchy at best ?. Eventually I switched to something a bit easier to deal with.
and the 101 has changed a fair bit since then too.
I can't recommend strongly enough getting an EGT gauge installed as soon as possible. You really want to know what your exhaust gas temps are doing while you're blasting up mountain grades at 75mph.
I like the Isspro gauges, but there are lots of others to choose from.
I have a '69 Speedmaster - it's a very cool watch imo, but it's not a great choice for an "expo watch" - it's not waterproof and the acrylic crystal (no glass in space...) scratches if you look at it funny ;)
Occasionally I wish I'd opted for a new Seamaster when I was shopping for a nice...
FWIW a factory windshield frame is currently not that hard to source. Who knows when they will go NLA, but for now at least, you can get one - I recently did.
Also of note is the new frames have breather holes all around the circumference of the frame. Hopefully this means the frames will now...

Mine and some of my friends' Trasharoos have all failed at the straps. Had planned on coating the straps on a new one with 303 Aerospace Protectant to see if it helped the longevity, but a few of us ended up trying the OzTrail instead. Long term jury is out so far.
And I agree with modernbeat...
after wearing out a couple of Trasharoos I'm trying the Oztrail

I like it so far - it supports itself better than the trasharoo, less "saggy diaper" look. The zippers are the only thing I'm not...
