    What is an "Arsenal"

To the original posts question about where the threshold is.........it is exactly where ever the media can quantify it. The media can proclaim a guy with a single firearm, a pocket knife, and maybe a spare magazine- has an "arsenal"-IF such a description will enhance their objective. (Which is...

    Dpms

Define "jams". Fail-to-feed, fail-to-eject, fail-to-extract, short-stroking, double-feeds? In re-reading your OP you state it "won't feed worth crap...". So, when you hit the bolt release on an empty chamber with a loaded magazine, it refuses to feed a fresh round into the chamber? Or after...

    The AR-15

I just noticed an AR thread on this forum. I own about 20 various AR's in numerous configurations/calibers. Everything from el-cheapo frankenguns, to stupid high-dollar Lambo's. Out of all of them- the most fun one to shoot is my M16. Plain-jane, made in the late 70's but apparently a...

Any recommendations for a good CB with PA and siren function?

Were the shots being fired across your bow because the shooters couldn't (or didn't) see you? Maybe they did and didn't care. That is a completely different problem that a CB with a PA won't properly fix. A bright marker of some sort-such as a USGI marker panel (I think they are referred to...

    Passed My Technician License Exam

Congrats! Welcome into the amateur radio world. One of the first things I realized was the more I learned, the less I knew. Looking back at it- was it as tough as you thought? I am certain others are apprehensive about taking the test, as some people are somewhat intimidated by tests...

    Guidance starting out

I would go online and find the listings of repeaters in your area and wherever you plan on traveling. You can save them in your radio (most radios have tons of storage just for this reason) and have them ready to use.

    Simple radio

Try thrift stores. I found a 10 meter mobile rig for $6.00! I usually go through the electronics section looking for nicer CB radios, and came across one with heat sinks sticking out of the back. I instantly figured it was not a CB, and did a quick search on my smart phone. Sure enough, a 10...

    Is this okay for antenna?

It would take about a hundred years---no, make that hundreds of years- for that spring to start to fail. I have an engine made back in the 40's, and the valves still slam shut when they are supposed to. You'll be fine. Spring steel is amazing stuff.

Concealed Carry - What Have You Got?

Up until I retired awhile ago, a G18 on my strong side and a G26 on my support wide. After I retired I run a G19 on my strong side with the G26 on the other. A G19 mag for a spare, a Strider BT worn upside down on my belt (works good, with an additional safety strap for retention), a CRKT...

    Looking for a M101A3

I am relatively new here, and forgive me if I overstep any rules/policies, but if you contact Idaho Motor Pool (208-453-5335) and/or visit their website, Alex has stacks of various military trailers, from M416s all the way up to HEMMT trailers. I know he had a bunch of smaller trailers a few...

    Fabricators, please step inside

If you went "over center" (or past 90 degrees-vertical), then you would only need one brace, rather than going to 90 degrees on your main support and needing a brace for both directions.
