    WTB: Ram 3500, 2nd Gen early 2000's w/ 5.9l Cummins

Keep a watch on CL for Seattle adds. Those trucks are thick as fly's up here in Western Washington. Also might be on AutoTrader. Spokane might be a little bit better since they get a lot less rain then we do here in Grays Harbor. I'll keep a look out and if I spot one I'll let you know.

Starter Comms — What should I get for basic comms to let me start joining group runs, etc?

The only problem with that approach is you're not going to be the one to decide if your usage was within the bounds of an emergency. Also even if it is an emergency you could still be fined. From the cases I've read about over the years those fines can be very high and very costly to fight...

Sorry about that! Thought you worked there! Thanks for posting the video, sure got me to thinking about options.

    AT Atlas walk-around video

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm cruising your website getting as much info as I can. I like the inch thick walls and I'm impressed by the hammer blow test on the video! Any chance of making straight up walls and a larger bed? My problem is where I live we get rain about 8 months of the year...

    AT Atlas walk-around video

Very impressive! I'll definitely be putting them on my short list. But it does seem odd that the bunk doesn't get any wider as the cap gets put on bigger trucks? My 8 foot full size truck bed would still only have the same size bed as a smaller unit. Even on an 8 foot full size truck bed I...

Enduro Campers - New Composite Wedge Camper

I'm very interested in seeing a Lobo Classic pop top. If I understand correctly the entire roof would raise up for maximum space in the bunk. At 6'2 and 220 pounds I'm not a fan of wedge campers. I'll be keeping an eye on these guys!

When it's life and death use whatever means you have available! No ruffled feathers here about that. That being said getting your ham licensee is pretty easy these days. Why not make it legal?

Minimum EV Range Requirement for Touring Western U.S.

Have you seen the "Long Way Up" series? Pretty interesting, they have the first two Rivians made and put them to some harsh use. It's on Apple TV if you have that service. I'd be interested in you're thoughts if you've seen it. Thanks!

True Dual Band vs Multi Function Single Reciever

I won't have anything other then a dual band radio. One channel for the group or friends I'm on the road or trail with and one for any local repeaters I can find just in case everything goes down the river without the paddles sort of thing. We are often outside of cell coverage so Ham is a...

Minimum EV Range Requirement for Touring Western U.S.

While I'm pretty impressed with the Rivian in the series "Long Way Up" they're still not there for me. When I'm planning my trips I like to link as many back roads and trails together as possible. I have a 32 gallon gas tank with a typical range of around 250 miles before my "range anxiety"...

SOLD. Tradesman Cabover Camper Shell ($1500)

This might help. I have a new Ram 3500 8ft bed. I just went and measured and that 24.5 inch height will NOT clear the roof of my cab. Looks about an inch too short. It might just clear the roof (doubtful I don't have a straight edge handy) but will certainly hit the lights and antennas.

    Make An Offer

I'm actually new to Washington. Moved up here a few years ago. Before here I spent a life in southern California. That's where I got that term. Walk into any RV shop or store and ask for rope putty and they'll know right away what you want. Can't say for the rest of the country, heck back...

    Make An Offer

I'd be interested but I think shipping all the way from you to me in western Washington would probably not be worth it. We call it "rope putty" out here and is used mostly for sealing vents and such in RV's. I've used it for decades and works great when done right. lol Good luck on your sale!

FOR SALE: 8' Go Fast Camper $8,500

I would also like the measurements to see if this might fit my 21 Ram with 8 foot bed.

Decision time. Trail Comm with CB required per 4x4 club. Upcoming changes, need WX.

Ignore all the haters and such. If the club says CB is required then put it in and hit the trails! Put the old CB in along with your weather radio you're all set. Only thing I would change is go for a shorter fiberglass CB antenna. Those steel whips on trails can whip around so violently...
