1984 Land Rover (Series III) Santana

An update on the Land Rover Santana... It has arrived here in the US, and (due to some confusion regarding getting the necessary documents over here...) took far longer than I'd anticipated to get titled and registered in the US. That said, it now has a clean Ohio title, is fully registered, and...

A discussion about Rover pricing....are values really gone this high?

This seems to be the thread of folks who might be able to help me out! I posted it over in the Vehicles for Sale section, but I'll be importing (shipping on the 12th), an '84 Series III / Santana diesel, hardtop. As mentioned over there, it's extremely low miles (hair under 16,000), excellent...

1984 Land Rover (Series III) Santana

Ok, so this isn't technically "For Sale" just yet... YET... Yes, it's an '84 Land Rover Santana / Series III. But I'm guessing you've already gathered that from the title. So... On to the good stuff! It's the shorter, 88 inch, wheelbase. As a Series model Santana, it is (as far as I'm able to...

Vehicle Modding Is Dead In the European Union; Now What?

To the OP, has anything about this requirement for inspections been verified? I tried looking it up, and all I'm able to see is that those inspection requirements apply IF one wants to register their vehicle as a "classic". Seems entirely optional to me...

    Lexus GX 460 & 470 owner's thread

True that. That's how I got my 80; flew from Virginia down to Florida. Has been a great vehicle so far (going on ~10 years now), but... it's still a '95. Hence looking at the 470/460. :-/

    Lexus GX 460 & 470 owner's thread

I have family in Europe; among whom is a brother-in-law who's a bit of a car nut. I've sent him Subaru (WRX) parts before, so he owes me. ;) Another question for you guys: I'm having a tough time finding GX's without the air suspension. Anyone here have any nightmare stories about them? Any...

    Lexus GX 460 & 470 owner's thread

Hey! I'm looking at getting a GX myself to retire the 80 from daily-driver duty. And of course, before I've even settled on getting a truck, I'm thinking of mods. So, a question: anyone here know if the rear door of a Prado can work on one of these? With the integrated spare-tire...

Ecodiesel as a short-distance commuter? Issues?

I've been eyeing those as well as the Colorado/Canyon diesels as well. Timeline is flexible, but the budget isn't. :) Working within what I've got, I'm kind of limited in options. I could do cash for a 1500 Ram with the 3.0, but the Canyons/Colorado's haven't come down enough yet.

Ecodiesel as a short-distance commuter? Issues?

Slightly tangental to the OP, but there's a lot of negative publicity going around regarding the reliability of the EcoDiesel. Anyone here have experience with the... I think it's passenger-side cam-gear failure? I've likewise got about a 20 mile commute I'm looking to get another truck for (the...

Russian off-road vehicles that are in production today.

Stories of reliability aside, the Kamaz really does look to be a decent (if large) vehicle for that part of the world. The guy has obviously put a TON of work into the thing. Everything is in Russian; but for folks from this side, it should be pretty obvious what he's showcasing on his vehicle...

    Special LR3 Lug Nuts? Whaaaaa...?

Something tells me that while they might look similar, I'm not sure they'd be interchangeable... :D Ooooo! I might take you up on that. PM sent.

    Special LR3 Lug Nuts? Whaaaaa...?

    Perfect explanation. Thank you!

    Special LR3 Lug Nuts? Whaaaaa...?

Now, I'm not a Landy guy myself, but a good friend here at work has an LR3. I know they like to do things a bit... differently over there on the other side of the pond, but he hit me up with a real head scratcher: Evidently, his mechanic told him that the LR3 needs some sort of special lug nut...

    OEM/Stock FJ45 Crewcab?!?

It may have been posted before, but I didn't see anything. Putzing around, I came a cross this: Now, I'm not even going to try to claim knowledge of unusual cruiser models, but even I know that this is one VERY rare setup. Price tag is through the roof ($125K), but... The entire thing...

    Land Cruiser Photos

Tried that, that clay is just too impenetrable to water. I hit the stuff in the wheelwell directly with the hose sprayer nozzle thingy: didn't touch it. Maybe I'll try the sprinkler thing overnight... Pffft! Now you tell me! Actually, the bulk of it came in through the window and splattered...
