Greetings again Flippac owners, If any of you read my previous post regarding my "Flippac that bit me". As soon as I felt like I could deal with the modification to open and close my Flippac with a push bar. I did. However, it was quite the handfull to open and close with the push bar setup...

Ah Ha.... Greetings, Well. Took the torsion bar out of the hinges today. Turns out that the bar is in great shape as are the hinges and the splines. What caused the crank to hit my crank and then me was that the splines were not Fully engaged with the hinge. I'll take a pic of it tomorrow...

Un-HInged.... One other thing. Have fun putting in the new hinge. It's kind of a Bear. Sorry.

Further Inspection..... Greetings, Yesterday, I was in the mood to investigate the failure of the Torsion Bar/Hinge Splines. I pulled the Nylon doughnut out of the lower half of the hinge. Then placed the crank on the Torsion Bar. Then, flexed the Bar a little. The splines on the upper portion...

Greeting Fellow FP owners, Two days ago my flipped bit me! Broke a rib when the crank hit me, when it appears, the splines on either the torsion bar or hinge stripped out. The crank slammed into the truck body very close to the rear window on my 92 Toyota Pickup Extra-cab.(Glad it didn't break...

Fabric/design discussion..... Well now. Seems that this discussion has created a lot of thoughts and ideas. I never imagined that it would create so much interest. After looking at the repair of the flippac w/ the blown out hinge area. I hope that it doesn't happen to me after my own hinge...

Hmmmm, The screen is just plain cheap! And like I wrote earlier, it needs to be on the inside. Look at any quality tent and the screen is on the inside. Something may come of all this discussion. I hope. Cheers
