    Electric Chain Saw

Took down a dead tree in the yard and broke it down with just this saw on a single charge. I'd agree with everything except the leaks. Excellent saw, great performance on a battery, but mine likes to leak a little. Haven't tried to troubleshoot it yet, since it in't a big deal. Love the Hatchet...

    Shooters Hearing Protection

Like they mention earlier in the thread, I'd suggest wearing both ear plugs and over ear protection. The most common issue people have with ear plugs is not properly inserting them. They must to be rolled tightly and fit into the actual ear canal to get a seal, not just lightly wedged in. Over...

    IOS camping gear checklist app

The native iOS "Reminders" app is also a good option. It syncs via iCloud. You can add items to it as a checklist and add notes per line item. You have the option to remove an item as it is checked off, or to retain it with the checkmark. If you really want to get fancy, you can even add...

Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

The solo "Jeep" over the pocket looks great. The shoulders also work pretty well. From a design standpoint, the climbing jeep image feels like it would be better towards the outside of the body (i.e. on the same side as the Jeep print, in the same direction) or mirrored from the current...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

Really no difference in getting up there with the seats in or a platform like Goose Gear, though I'd recommend folding the seat down before climbing up. Removes the tendency to want to step on the seat back, which can damage the folding mechanism. I removed the 60 side of the 60/40 rear seats to...

    Minimum Equipment List JKU

CMM has a ram mount ball that screws in right up near the visor in the corner. https://cmmoffroad.com/collections/jeep-jk-parts/products/ram-pillar-ball-mount I really like the position for my phone as it stays higher up. Only drawback is that it can get in the way if you want to pull the visor...

    Air Compressor Data FYI

Have this doc for ARB compressors. It might help to true up the stats, especially for the Max Load on amps.

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

Don't take my numbers as official since I didn't put anything on a scale myself, but when I was digging around for numbers, I have it down as 260 lbs. for the Ursa JKU top. I was replacing a hardtop, which I have listed as 130 for the rear section and ~40 for both freedom panels. That only nets...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

Sold mine off of Craigslist in a hurry before I headed down, but that was in 2018. I had a couple of days and got a hit the day before I headed down. $1500, fairly new and still had the bags for the freedom panels. Ursa was willing to sell the top on consignment for less, so that was my backup...

Goose Gear vs Front Runner vs DIY

One valuable lesson I learned was to make sure that 1. You figure out what you need to do to make the floor level with spacers, etc. and 2. You have enough rigidity to keep the doors/openings flat and square. Ended up building an 80/20 frame to keep the 3/4 ply base platform flat and in plane...

Goose Gear vs Front Runner vs DIY

I'll second what the others have said above. I've heavily examined what Goose Gear offers, and they are double or triple the cost of what it would be if you want to sink the time to DIY. Tools and everything else, all in, just to build the base I have with a slightly more robust build cost me...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

Looks like you're in SoCal. If you need measurements, we might be able to meet up so you can check anything that needs checking. Shoot me a PM if it's helpful.

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

When I had my top installed at the shop, I asked them about wiring it to the SPod. They said it wasn't really necessary, which I agree with after having seen everything done. The top has its own breaker/power switch right above the rear view mirror.

    Ursa Minor or RTT

Also, make sure to inspect the paint yourself, especially if you color match the top. Check under the top, above where the front doors will be. Also along the bottom edges. I caught one problem in the paint before I left and they took it over to have it fixed, but I missed another issue.

    Ursa Minor or RTT

I'd say to try to find an owner nearby to let you check the J30 out. It's not inexpensive purchase, so best to know what you're getting into. Wish I had feedback for the RTT, but I've only had ground tents and the Ursa. For me, clearance is a big issue, as I daily drive my Jeep and short...
