No, I wish I did. It’s pretty light though. Very easy to tow. Pretty easy to forget it’s back there.

FS: Off-road camp trailer, Monterey CA

It’s time to part with our off-road trailer. This thing is awesome, but we have a bigger RV now, so it doesn’t get used as often. I built this to take my family on an 8 State, 3 week adventure and it performed wonderfully. Everything was replaced or completely new. It’s made to pretty much go...

    Anti-condensation mat?

We were rolling without a mat for awhile, as I didn’t want to spend the $ either. We’d get condensation, but we’d just deal with it and made due with ventilation. Last Thanksgiving, on a trip to WA, we stopped for a night near Kalamath Falls. The temperature dropped to 20* by the next morning...

    3-axis coupler

Thank you guys, I missed all of these replies. I had some extra material, so I made another rotating assy. I changed up the welding sequence, so a could fit the pin after welding. It turned out the way I'd hoped. Thanks again.

    Trailer roof rack lift...how to?

    I used this type of pin: Pull Pin - T-Handle - 1-1/2" Length x 1" Diameter Steel Barrel - 1/2" Diameter Steel Spring-Loaded Plunger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KHUKT86/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_-vAhzb98CM7ET

    Trailer roof rack lift...how to?

I'd also add that the rack tube that runs the length of the trailer might be better as just 1.5" square, or there abouts. I'll get some pics up of the lift tubes ASAP. Matt

    Trailer roof rack lift...how to?

No problem! I wanted to add that the CVT claimed shipping weight of 206lbs. includes the annex, floor, boxing and other crap that will not be on your tent when it's on the roof or rack. I also want to add that my setup is based on using an old, floppy 1958 Dodge truck bed (still worth it IMO)...

    Trailer roof rack lift...how to?

My tent is a CVT Rainer and weighs in at about 160#'s and that's a pretty big tent. My rack is about 23' of 1x1.5", .090 wall tube, which it's quite 50#. I'm using 60# gas springs and yes, they do fit in a 1.5" tube. I have a video of setting up the tent, but I'm not exactly the best at posting...

    3-axis coupler

Hello all, I'm building a 3-axis coupler and I have a question for those of you that have used them. As you can see in hype pic, I have a pin that rotates in a sleeve, allowing the coupler to roll. It started as an interference fit and I knew it would tighten up a bit. But, after full welding...

Truck bed trailer build: ideas, questions

My $.02 I love and hate truck bed trailers at the same time. Like you said, I love the unique factor and they can look cool. But, it's just the bed that I like. I'm not a fan of using the frame and especially the rear axle. Mine has a portion of the original frame and an actual trailer axle...

    Trailer roof rack lift...how to?

That's most likely what I'll do as well. Nothing wrong with what I have, but think pneumatic would be pretty cool.

    Trailer roof rack lift...how to?

No problem. I'm actually tearing it apart this weekend and I'll snap a bunch of pics. As for rocking, I took it out for a weekend shake-down and The rack was steady as a rock. If you are going to use tube, I'd suggest DOM, since it has no seam. My struts fit inside a 1.5", .120 wall tube. The...

    Trailer roof rack lift...how to?

Gas strut lift Mine uses 60# gas struts, at each corner, and I get about 20" of lift. It's held down with spring loaded pins and will almost lift all the way up by itself. Coming down is easy with 2 people, and not that difficult by myself. The springs are mounted inside the tubing. I've only...
