    Differential Global Positioning System

It's certainly not free just because the government does it. The FAA is moving away from ILS runway approaches due to the enormous cost of maintaining the ground-based installations, in favor of GPS instrument approaches now possible thanks to the accuracy of WAAS. Apparently it is good enough...

    '08 Tacoma headlight question

I would pull the bulb and use a test lamp or meter. It is a switched ground system, so you'll probably want to use the factory harness to switch the ground side of the switching means half of your relay.

    Remington 700 stainless?

Cool, thanks guys. I guess .223 came to mind because it's so commonly available. .308 is, too, but I've never come across anyone shooting 7mm or even .270. But then I don't know many rifle owners. The 700 just seems like a simple, reliable Remi rifle, a lot like my 870. I will have to go take a...

    Remington 700 stainless?

Hey, folks. Do any of you know anything about the Remington SPS 700 Stainless? http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/centerfire_rifles/model_700/model_700_SPS_Stainless.asp It looks like a nice starter rifle for shooting at the local range. I have no game hunting aspirations, just...

Cross country expedition and I am considering taking my rifle.

They can always cite you for disturbing the peace if someone freaks out over the twelve gauge resting in your gunrack. I suppose the likelihood of that depends where you travel in California. I wouldn't assume it's fine and dandy to do so anywhere near the Bay Area, for example.

    LED Off-Road light

This is my biggest issue with HID lighting, as well. I had HID lamps on my old Audi and while the beam pattern and amount of light output was fabulous, the color was just awful. Colors were more difficult to discern, making it in some ways more difficult to identify object or people at a...

If you are looking to buy a winch.

You can get a Superwinch EP9 9000 pounder with synthetic line and pulley block for $720 from Winchline.com, one of the sponsors of Scott's rig. I have this setup and it is quite nice. Note that when I ordered mine, I asked to keep the roller fairlead in place of the included Hawse...

    Lets see your aux lights!

Rallylights.com carries almost everything Hella produces. The regular 500s are nothing special. The 500FF looks a lot like the IPF 968. The 968s are great with 100 watt bulbs.

Got a winch, now need a battery

I used welding cable to relocate the solenoid pack for my Superwinch EP9.0. They can sell you the crimp-on rings and the diabolical crimping device you need to attach them (it's basically a vice with an anvil that you whack with a hammer to crimp the lugs on. Works great!) Welding cable is much...
