Best (Or Most Dependable) All-Terrain Tire?

I just replaced the AT/KO tires on my van with the AT3 MS4 tires. The KO was just too much tire for me and I don't do the kind of off road stuff I used to. The AT3 rides a lot smoother but suspect they are not in the same league when it comes to toughness. Sidewalls on the AT3's seem really thin.

Reliability of Chevy Astro van AWD

I have a 2004 AWD Astro and really like the thing. It has close to 90k miles on it now. Got it with very low miles, has 3.73 gears and and a factory rear locker. I did a 2" lift and some larger tires. My only real issue with the Astro is it's lack of power with the larger tires. It struggled...

    Astro AC/heat pump finally found.

Added another summer of using the little portable AC unit and it's still working fine. Pretty good bang for the buck. Also used the heater portion a bit last winter and spring.

    Sprinter help.

Thanks for the info. It did have to be limped into Del Rio. Dodge dealer there said the could help them. Haven't heard but hope turns out well for them. It was the 6 cyl and the dealer told us adding fluid wasn't going to help.

    Sprinter help.

I'm at Seminole Canyon SP and there are two senior ladies here in a 2014 Sprinter van that has gone into limp mode. They are on a busy why stuck in second gear. I'm certain they are in limp because of a low trans fluid condition. There is a tiny leak that has probably finally gotten the fluid...

    Best Van Opinions

Keeping the interior simple can go a long way in cutting weight. I have an AWD Astro van that I built out a wood interior in. It was just too much. I pulled it all out, went with a simple aluminum cot (way more comfortable), Good cooler and simple camp gear for cooking. Much prefer this setup...

    Astro AC/heat pump finally found.

Just back from a week of camping and the portable heat pump is my new best friend. I stayed at state parks so I had power. There were some benefits I hadn't considered! Noisy kids next door were drowned out by the humm of the ac. One night it got pretty cool and had a serious thunderstorm that...

    Astro AC/heat pump finally found.

Well after several weekends of hot sweaty nights this summer I decided to find a solution to the West Texas heat so I could sleep better. I'm no hard core guy and 90% of my nights are spent in a park with power and the parks usually make me use an RV slot rather I want to or not. A van is an RV...

    Astros at Bisti.

Worth a visit. I really liked the place, just open land with a few parking places. Zero facilities. Closest bag of ice is 45 minutes away in Farmington. I did Bisti and Chaco canyon, just to the south of Bisti by dirt road.. Chaco has ice, drinking water, potties and tons of interesting stuff too.

    Steel vs. Aluminum for bumpers?

    Since nobody makes anything that fits an Astro van, it isn't going to be an issue for me. )-:}

    Astros at Bisti.

Went to Bisti Wilderness for picture taking and was surprised to find another astro parked my mine when I woke up one morning. Owner of the brown van must have come in late. I didn't get to sleep till after midnight and the van was there in the morning when I left. Maybe someone on here. I'd...

Looking for Chevy Astro swivel seat base

Had a baseplate on mine but took it off. It just raised the seat too much. I've been waiting for a chance to try cutting section out of the factory seat mounts to lower the swivel a few inches. I spent months trying to get one and finally found one on ebay that fit the seat bolt holes but still...
