I drilled the FR mounts today and mounted it to the EA brackets. It works but it's not pretty. I notified FR and they were responsive but they need to see what the engineers in SA have to say about it. I recommended they pull the brackets from the website until the issue is resolved.
Wow, lots of conversation on this one. First, my post was to inform others like myself a "newby" so that they can learn what to ask about prior to making a decision. I don't know what I don't know. I take the information from the vendor's websites at face value and assume noble intent. The...
I confirmed, the Front Runner brackets are designed to connect to the Eezi-Awn supplied brackets. I just ordered them and Equipt1 was very accommodating in getting a set to me. I set he Front Runner brackets next to the awning to eye just connecting it directly to the awning but several of the...
I received my new Eezi 1000 today and it appears to be very well built out of the bag. The latches are nice and sturdy although riveted to the aluminum case and not bolted. I haven't opened it up yet but I did discover a couple things I want to pass on if you are a neophyte like myself.

I just found out I am about 2 miles away from HITents today. This is encouraging but I was trying to find reviews online and the articles come up a little short. Does anyone have any experience with their tents and be willing to share?
Thanks in advance.
I have been looking for a RTT and would prefer to get a hardtop but they are expensive. I was searching Craigslist for a used one and ran across the attached add. It says they are the same a Autohome or James Baroud without the name stuck on it but I am a little dubious. Does anyone have any...
Thanks everyone. Like I said, I do not and haven't had experience with maintaining, building or modifying suspension to include knowing what all the parts and pieces are. The responses are great but I am also in the process of reading about vehicle suspension in general to help educate myself...
I would not generally recommend UShip but they are definitely cheaper than most. I have a classic car which I have shipped from WA to DC, DC to LA and LA back to DC. Every time I have used http://www.intercitylines.com/. Cost was ~$1800. Not sure if that is near your price point but I know where...
Good point and I have, it's comfortable but the airbags have 140,000 miles on them. From a reliability standpoint, I want to move away from them to a more analog solution.
Hello all,
I recently acquired a new to me stock 2008 GX470 with the intent of using it as a family vehicle/overlanding vehicle. We have visions of one day taking it to South America but in the meantime, exploring the West closer to our home. As I am contemplating the required modifications, I...

davis31052,
I grew up in the area and you are shooting for the right parts. The San Juan (Texas Creek) is the place to go below Navajo Dam just south of Durango. Get used to throwing a size 18-22 size fly with fluorocarbon leader. The San Juan is world class.
If I may...
