"Lola" - WreckDiver1321's 2005 Frontier CC/SB Nismo Build and Adventure Thread

Interesting method on the transmission fluid, I may try to do the same. Nice and simple too, the pathy has the usual harsh 1-2 shift of that gen but seems to be a bit rougher lately. As far as pads, I've been having very good luck with my Hawk set.

    My 2001 Pathfinder (R50 ) mild/budget build

Out of curiousity, what mod undid the line originally, and what did it improve?

Excessive oil consumption in VQ 35 engine? R50 Pathy (followup)

Oil burning seems relatively common on this engine family, as far as I know there are some people who continue to add oil, but at some point it may lead to all sorts of serious issues for that particular motor. That said, you might be able to find a low mileage motor in a wrecker's somewhere at...

    My 2001 Pathfinder (R50 ) mild/budget build

Good lord it has been too long! Good to see it's doing fine, I'm loving the bumper setup. Good move on keeping it pretty light, that I know would be my issue with a bumper. Countless rigs go for bumpers that are needlessly heavy duty, and functionally no stronger, so good on you for avoiding...

"Lola" - WreckDiver1321's 2005 Frontier CC/SB Nismo Build and Adventure Thread

Very smart solution, that seems like it'll be a great upgrade. I appreciate attempting to stay closer to stock width. I'm sure this information will be helpful for a few sad frontier owners with busted diffs. :sombrero:

The Lost Coast: Places I've Never Been in Northern California

Awesome! I'd love to go back and do the entire trail sometime, that sounds like a great trip you had. Such a beautiful area, the bad weather adds to the experience too I think.

The Lost Coast: Places I've Never Been in Northern California

Sounds about right, on this trip we didn't meet any Tule Elk, but on a previous run up there, we definitely did. Met them coming down to the ocean as a matter of fact, which was strange at first. Thank you! Thank you! I'm glad I could help. Thank you! For me being from somewhat near Tahoe...

The Lost Coast: Places I've Never Been in Northern California

The next morning we went for a quick hike up to a tree farm, a misty morning awaited. We said our goodbyes, and went through town one last time. We went to the Empire Mine State Historic Park, which was the most producing mine in California during its years in operation. Providing work...

The Lost Coast: Places I've Never Been in Northern California

Continuing down the grade, we passed one of the last gallows used in California. The unlucky recipient of its use could not have foreseen the outlaw of its use only two years after his execution. After a rather long and winding white-knuckle drive through ice and quickly piling snow into...

The Lost Coast: Places I've Never Been in Northern California

Driving on through the island of Samoa, we ventured over to the OHV park to check out the surf and get in some much needed off roading. Here in California, it's rare to get to drive on the beach, outside of Pismo or a couple locations in San Diego, but to be this far North and so close to the...

The Lost Coast: Places I've Never Been in Northern California

The setting sun brought along a steak dinner, some misguided bacon beans over a quickly disintegrating stove, plenty of booze, and time to play with the camera. I must say I'm a fan of the ARB chairs As soon as we went to bed, the skies opened it seemed, and it began to pour. Using my...

The Lost Coast: Places I've Never Been in Northern California

A close friend and I decided to make a trek to the far Northern coast of California, somewhere we'd never been. Having read about the "Lost Coast" on several travel logs and hiking guides, we decided that would be our first stop. What a great time it would be, as the Lost Coast is an area so...

    2002 Pathfinder (R50) Overland Build

If I haven't said it already, nice work and great trucks! Where'd you source the rear LSD exactly?

    minimizing dust intrusion

Check the alignment on the door weatherstripping, I know my rear doors' sometimes don't line up quite perfectly. I've yet to have too bad of dust intrusion, your vehicle also will not pressurize no matter the AC setting. There's plenty of intentional air vents/leaks so you can close your doors...

New R50 Pathfinder Part 2 with Pics. Donkey

Wow, that's a heck of a hit it took there. I wonder what caused that. Those Toyos are good tires, I had them before my Coopers, and they did quite well. They last an extremely long time too, I think you'll be happy.
