Passenger airbag removal prior to heater core replacement?

Mine looked like that as well. I had a heck of a time getting it out with that bent copper pipe on the right, so I cut the pipe to about 4cm and used a flex heater hose from napa. It'd be a good idea to grease all those plastic slide joints/fittings, too. Good luck!

    quick revised/updated crank bolt question

I had one of those ('98 SR) when I was stationed in San Juan. Took me a while to figure out it was a 3.0L and was pretty bummed when I found out but loved it all the same.

    Se7en62's '99 Montero Gen 2.5 Overland Build & Adventures

Actually grew up in the Ozarks (Eureka Springs), you're gonna have a blast! Haven't spent a lot of time in the Ouachitas, but check out Devils den state park, Whitaker Point, and the pig trail (very windy) if you make it far enough north. Don't have a lot of off-road knowledge to give you, I...

Gen 2.5 Heater Core Replacement - Tips, threads, pictures, etc

I saw that too, but once I started using the links provided by other members, there weren't any. I tried ordering one from parts.com but they were completely out, even though they said it was in stock on the site. They cancelled my order after a day or two, so I was at square one. I sourced...

Gen 2.5 Heater Core Replacement - Tips, threads, pictures, etc

Hi TNMontero, Just finished mine. It wasn't too bad. It would be a good idea to try and flush it, but if it is leaking then it is most definitely cracked. The radiator shop said it was cracked on the lower tank and all rods were full of crap. I baggied and labelled all the bolts from each...

Wet Carpet after driving through a puddle

Hi raysobi, I has this same issue when I lived in Puerto Rico on my Gen 2.5. It would only show up in heavy rains. I eventually traced it down to the pinch welds where the roof exterior meets the side panels of the car. The water was passing through the weld on the passenger side gutter...

    Post your Mitsubishi Pajero Pics

Not as bad as i thought. To get the dash completely out of the car and looking at the heater core was about 3-4 hrs, but i was bagging and tagging the bolts for each component group (i.e. the cluster screws, the radio screws, hvac controls, etc.). The core took about three weeks to get rodded...

Finished replacing my heater core yesterday. Not as bad as i was expecting, getting the dash apart. The HVAC box is really f%#$& in there, so I ended up cutting the elbow pipe on the core since the firewall kinda blocks the core from coming out directly from the top. Thanks to Seattle...

    Gen 2.5 transmission "clunk"

I went ahead and tried the shifter first and there was a definite loud "clunk" when shifting into drive from reverse or neutral. It seems to take about 2 or 3 seconds to shift into reverse/drive, also. I tried really twisting the driveshaft and using a prybar to jostle the U-joint and theres...

    Gen 2.5 transmission "clunk"

Hello all, Ever since I've had my 99 it has had a severe and loud "clunk" when downshifting from 4th to 3rd. It only happens when travelling at about 35mph to 60mph, mostly on medium-speed highways and city roads (no issues on interstate). It happens the instant I touch the throttle after...

    95 rear seat

On my 99 it is under the passenger rear seat (i guess middle if you have a third row). You have to fold up the rear seat and its under the carpet in a black bin. You'll need a 10mm and theres six bolts all on the outside i believe. Your 95 MAY be different, but i'm guessing its not.

What did you do to your Mitsubishi today?

Installed new carpet in the rig. Old one was incredibly moldy and smelly. Previous owners must have dumped a soda years ago. Sticky inside the center console but made out with some nice spending coin. Carpet was from Auto Custom Carpets (via Rockauto) and actually fit pretty well after some...
