2019 Rim Rocker Colorado to Moab Misadventure - Trip Report

Don’t forget that we can carry some of your heavier gear to make the riding easier. I do like those bags. I’ll need to get a closer look during the trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    My Journey

I have spent a lot of time in the Swell. I even camped in Wild Horse Canyon where I pointed out the highwater marks to our group. Sad about those kids dieing there. Too frequent of an experience. I’ve hiked plenty of slot canyons but with great care and concern.

Aftermarket seat options? Do they even exist anymore?

I wasn’t suggesting them. Just confirming that aftermarket seats exist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Aftermarket seat options? Do they even exist anymore?

There are plenty of aftermarket seat companies. Do you think the Baja racers use factory seats? Or any serious racer for that matter. Be prepared for sticker shock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    My Journey

When you posted that name I had to look it up as I’m pretty sure I’ve been there. Or at least close. I’ve spent a lot of time in the San Rafael Swell Area. It’s just a few hours west of my home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Lets talk shovels

I recall somebody was selling a breakdown shovel like Mikes. But it had two handles. One short D-handle and a regular long one. Maybe it was AT Trailer that marketed it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve seen those mini corrals used to block off anything dangerous like old wells, or hazardous to wildlife/cattle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Lets talk shovels

I’ve got that exact same shovel I purchased about 1972 in Visalia, CA. True no break shovel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think you’re referring to the wrong one. That one does look like a snow shovel. The model i am referring looks like the big daddy of the WWII GI folder with an extendable handle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The ExPo Mountain Bike Photo Thread

Good to see another post here. I’ll add another of mine. This is my other Fatbike; a Borealis Echo on 26 x 4.8s. My trail buddy Kenda likes any riding but I believe she’s most fond of the snow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Lets talk shovels

Until I looked at this link I wasn’t aware that I have a combi-tool. I actually had two at one time. I modified one with a small McCloud style head welded to the pick. I built it for trail work but it didn’t live up to my expectations. The other unmoded one I still have but I agree it’s not...

    Lets talk shovels

A mail order company I like is Gemplers. They have excellent shovels. Many with lifetime no break warranty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That DMOS shovel I mentioned earlier both folds and has a extendable handle. So very compact but expands to nearly full size. Think of it as the big brother to the WWII GI folder. Google it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
