    HAMBO build thread

Yup :D I figures that'd be the most affordable way to do it. For a year I was running a rear adapter spacer but really didn't trust it. And I was right! On my last trip to Utah I lost a rear wheel while cruising at 60mph on the hwy. Luckily my wheel didn't hit anyone and I figured a way to...

It's an Hellwig, pretty sure it was for the Econoline. I had to drill the end holes wider to modify the mounting style. I'll get back if I can find pictures. Sent from my SM-G981W using Tapatalk

Thank you guys and sorry for not responding sooner, paying job is getting in the way! But not for much longer, only another 6 weeks then I retire and can finish this project! (Or leave it as it and travel right away, lol) I have yet to install the air ride seat. Still have other projects to...

    97 E350 Crestline Ambo Build/Mod

Rear sway bar is kind-of a must for our rigs. I only put one one my 1st ambo after 4yrs and still can't understand why I didn't do it sooner! Sent from my SM-G981W using Tapatalk

    Hambo aluminum poptop

It is heavy, maybe 200-250lbs but the piece I cut off was a good 150lbs so not much of an overall issue. On a side note, I hit the scale yesterday and was around 12,500lbs. 5000lbs front axle 7500 rear axle Currently in Salt Spring City (or nearby town). Good trip!!! Sent from my SM-G973W...

    Hambo aluminum poptop

None at all. It's tall where I need to stand. No need to have extra height above the countertops ;) Sent from my SM-G973W using Tapatalk

    Hambo aluminum poptop

Thanks to all of you guys! Glad to realize it's not too much of a monologue, lol. I guess the comment came from another thread on this board ;) How about a last update for a while as I'm heading out on a roadtrip tomorrow... Here you can see the bed platform in 3 positions. 1st position is...

    Hambo aluminum poptop

Allright, the monologue continues for a final push;) Still a few things to complete but it's finally useable. Since I don't really feel like listening to myself today I won't elaborate further and will just post a few pictures instead, lol. Sent from my SM-G973W using Tapatalk

best homemade van build forum, expo forum for van builds seems dead

A bit late in the chat but I agree things here don't seem to be as interactive as they used to be. On my first Ambo build thread I had tons of people jumping in with questions or suggestions. On my 2nd ambo build thread sometime I feel like I'm talking to myself, lol. And the 2nd build is even...

    Hambo aluminum poptop

A little more every day! The poptop is now secured to the truck via a 62" long stainless piano hinge and close to 80 stainless bolts and rivnuts! Once I was satisfied with the fit I covered all the nuts with a 3" wide Ethernabound tape. I also sealed the inner frame with Sikaflex sealant and...
