Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

Me either. As a RTT owner for 8 yrs and using it in all types of weather and sometimes for weeks at a time from Baja to the PNW, and on trails from Teapot Canyon in the Maze District in Utah to Forest Service roads, plus miles of freeways to get quickly from one end of the country to another...

Do people really take their off-road teardrops through gnarly trails?

I originally started overlanding with just a RTT on my rig. There's pluses & minuses to either way, however with a family, a trailer is almost a necessity. My 1st trailer was built to do trails like the Rubicon, with an adequately built tow rig & skilled driver. But, it was a utility style and...

2018 Three Feathers Mfg. 'Trail Head'

Got my brother-in-law, Dave, to install a pass-thru window in the wall between galley and sleeping area. It's not for me to "pass-thru", but for convenience. Other similar trailers to mine have this built in from the shop, but it wasn't a TFM option back in 2018. So what do you do? Improvise...

    AluCab bedding/sheets options

Your Alu Cabs are looking great! How are you liking them? Interested to see how you attached the Shadow. Does it attach directly to the RTT?

    AluCab bedding/sheets options

I guess I'm the opposite, when camping I prefer a sleeping bag, for the surrounding insulation (can't kick the blankets off in my sleep and wake up shivering🥶). So I noticed Tepui sold double sleeping bags sized for their RTT's. Well, you don't have to have a Tepui RTT to purchase one and...

    Eureka Ignite propane stove

Well, the good Lord provided a slide assembly that will work for this stove as I had planned. A couple of pics for explanation: For cooking And when retracted, a secure place to store for traveling: And I gain back valuble counter space and the storage spot should help keep travel damage...

2018 Three Feathers Mfg. 'Trail Head'

More progress - the slide assembly is installed. When retracted for traveling: Room for Water Bricks and shower floor underneath: With stove extended, but counter not extended: With both counter and stove extended: Was thinking that with both extended it might over stress the slides...

2018 Three Feathers Mfg. 'Trail Head'

Working on the right side of my galley where I'm fabbing a slide system for my stove which will also house it while traveling. Had some aluminum brackets and slides donated to me by my brother-in-law for this. He lives 7 hrs away from me, but he'll be helping with some plans I have later, for a...

The water pump in this galley is the traditional RV pump that is pressure activated. Open a faucet and the loss of pressure from the water escaping will kick on the pump until you shut the faucet off. When it reaches a set pressure, the pump shuts off. New faucet has improved water flow as well...

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

All this hoopla....I still want to see 2 things on the Superlite that GFC is keeping secret, at least to the general public. And that is the vehicle mounting method "Quick Connect system" and a demo of how it opens and closes. Then we can get a better feel for the tent, IMHO.

Colorado Built Boreas AT, XT, MXT Teardrop!

Since your water tanks are mounted outside and you have the propane heater for the cabin and cold weather, are your water tanks heated or do you have the option for a heated water tank for extended camping in below freezing weather?

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

The Superlite RTT is a clever approach, but it will catch some existing RTT owners off guard. I'm sure Go Fast isn't trying to pull a fast one, but with 2 essentials as options (mattress & ladder), the price will jump about $400 to include these. I liked the 80# weight and the price was even...

    Eureka Ignite propane stove

That's a neat idea! My plan is to have it slide out & be at 90 degrees from the sink. Sort of like a corner counter in a kitchen. At least it should free up counter space for meal prep. I haven't seen a slide that could do that, except for keyboard trays. But they're not big or strong enough to...

    Eureka Ignite propane stove

Well the one and only trip I've managed during this lockdown was a 3 days/2 nights off road jaunt and the stove itself worked flawlessly. However, even though smaller and more compact than my Coleman, it still takes up considerable counter space. So I'll be attempting to fab up an under the...

2018 Three Feathers Mfg. 'Trail Head'

One other issue, actually more of a dissapointment, that surfaced on my shakedown camping trip is the galley or kitchen. The sink and stove setup has to be improved, especially after looking at the galley in this trailer. I looked at this Boreas trailers thread here on Expo and have been...
