    high mileage motors for overloading

The real reason they got rid of it is engine intrusion into the passenger compartment in the event of a front end collision. This is also why Jeep never put a Hemi into the JK stock. Too big to stuff in there and still have a frontal impact zone. The 4.0L is a damn long motor, and heavy even...

    high mileage motors for overloading

The 3.8 is not known to be the greatest motor. It certainly does not have the lifespan of a 4.0L 6cyl. Keep an eye on the oil usage. Replacement long blocks should be pretty easy to come by though. A lot of the people that do swap out for a Hemi or LS should be more than eager to sell their...

    Overland Expo West 2015

Thats what I slept in all weekend. It was brand new (first use at this show) The floor ripped out a little and one of the awning bows bent under the wind. I might look for something a little more durable.

    Fusing a winch

I've ordered from bestboatwire.com quite a lot and they have always shipped fast. The one time I did have an issue with a package busted up by USPS they reshipped the same day.

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

My new hoopty. 2014 2dr Rubicon 6spd. Bought it used with 3054 miles. Got some 4dr coils for it for ~1 1/2" lift. Cut the fenders last weekend. I got lucky, it came with 4.10 gears so I'm going to put 35s on it and call it good. Next mod is a set of Metalcloak control arms and longer Bilstein...

    No buck XJ build

That particular "error" has been in the instructions for literally years. It gets fixed and the instructions get updated then some IT guy pulls an old copy from an outdated file and the cycle starts all over again. It became a bad joke while working there.

    No buck XJ build

That would be true but the toplock nut that comes with the 1600 is not gr8 hence the lower rating. Also the material the mis alignment spacers are made out of is not all that hard. Edit. my chart says 240 for 5/8"-18 dry(no lube).

Wow, they still haven't fixed the instructions. The torque should be 150. We had it corrected for a while but when 4wp bought RE they must have grabbed an old version of the instructions to put on their website. Yea, at 115 it would come loose all the time. Are you sure the bolt you received...

    No buck XJ build

The RE1600 uses a 5/8" bolt and if torqued down to 150+ ft/lbs should be fine. Though the 1.25" .120 wall tubing does flex a bit. The RE1660/1665 combo shouldn't flex with it's 1 3/8" .188 wall tube. It does use 1/2" hardware though not 10mm like the RE1600 at the bottom. I used to work for RE...

The Turtle - 96 XJ Country Build

Did you get the new rear springs or add-a-leafs in the rear? Never mind. I just re-read the first post. Give the rear leafs a couple of months. They will settle more than the front coils when they break in. Might even want to break the torque on the front and rear spring bolts and the top of...

3 burner camp stoves. Coleman 426/428 or Camp Chef?

Ok, so it sounds like I can't really go wrong with either a 426 C or D.
