I went with a Precision Motorcycle rack as I needed a place to strap my dry bag.

This rack is also predrilled for a rotopax mount, which may come in handy later.

That is a great bike and setup for off road exploring and camping. I prefer lighter and smaller 250 class bikes over the 450+ pound turds anytime.

I agree too, I can't imagine repeatedly picking up a big ADV monster trailside. I really wish a Japanese manufacturer would make a 400cc EFI machine with a 6 speed gear box, it'd be a great seller for this type of riding.

I decided on more aggressive DOT tire, as the Shinko 700s were a bit milder than I wanted.

My type of riding is typically slower paced, and my skill set is admittedly not the best off road. I really liked the MT43 on my XT350, so I decided to try out these Motoz Mountain Hybrids.

Much like my KLX351, they'll be a good jack of all trades tire that won't give up too much of on road performance. The rear is quite heavy, but the BB351 kit and mods should handle it just fine.

While the rear wheel was off, I figured I may as well pull the swingarm and grease all the bearings. I'm very glad I did, as they were effectively dry!

A liberal coating of grease will certainly make them last much longer.

Next, I mounted up the Motoz and balanced it out.

If you're considering this Mountain Hybrid on a KLX250S, I recommend the 110-100/18. There's clearance, but not a much extra.

My Trailtech temperature sensor is now installed in the port provided on the Thermobob 2. This gives me a rapid reading of water temp exiting the engine, allowing me to catch a major issue earlier than the warning light would provide.

Today I anchored the shifter and rear brake pedals. This should greatly reduce pedal damage, and help keep sticks out from between them and the case.

Today's mod revolved around adding a little more comfort and control. The factory foot pegs are miserably small.

So I made the switch to some IMS pegs! They feel much more secure underfoot, and greatly reduce the pressure point feeling in my boots.

While riding at highway speeds, I noticed a bit of clutch slippage when passing. After researching, I found that this is a common issue with the 351cc Big Bore kit. To remedy this, I utilized KX125 friction plates.

The KX125 plates have significantly more material, and are grippier overall.

To round it out, a set of Barnett Springs clamped the pack down tighter. Problem solved!
