My Trailer underwent some changes since the last time I posted in this thread. Currently, a bit simpler without the tire carrier etc, but new custom fenders, 37's, paint, fresh Raptor liner in the tub, new tongue box. Still debating adding a tire carrier again or just using a single spare from the truck. Twelve years and thousands of miles and countless memories with this DIY trailer so far. Winter project could be a full revamp of the suspension.

Utah. I have been following you on insta and was just doing research on trailer builds. i am in colorado. what are the specs on yours? i will be working with 1960 apache chief alumn box that is 7X4X2 and 4 compartments. i will be modifying a 14' boat trailer frame and working out details like axle approach and stuff. i do plan to match tires to my LC80 that has 35's on it ... would be interested to hear about your GVW on it and if that is 3500lb axel? etc. Justincolorado aka Barbarosa

Finally picked it up yesterday, had the dealer install the PD converter and LiFePo4 battery. Tows like a dream. But it's bigger than the dim specs said and BARELY fit in the garage. The big ole spare is mounted on the back bumper.
Mrs Dweller and crew at work love it.

Now begins the epic challenge of fitting all my crap in it. The teardrop we had actually had oodles of storage. The storage on the Aliner is, ummmm, unique. Lift up the mattress and you're rewarded with a cavernous storage area that's trespassed upon by A/C ducting. Similar trespasses abound in other areas as well.

Loaded weight of the trailer is 2000lb max. Typically less than that and closer to 1500lb. Yes the axle is a 3500lb axle, wouldn't go any smaller on a trailer that will get used offroad.

Camper
Looks like a great set up to me!
Thanks muchly, we love it. The camper is not quite as robust as they claim, and I had never seen one. We went to the RV show with the intention of ordering a Rpod, and I came around the corner and fell in lust with this thing. I have had to do a fair bit of work over the last few years to build it more rugged for some of the Gravel roads we head down, with the intentions of two big destinations. the first is a Yukon/Alaska trip then a trip to Baja Mexico to camp on a beach (My beautiful wifes Dream) so I am slowly trying to improve it so it doesnt rattle apart

Yeah.... None of them are very robust. Ours never claimed to be though.

Even on normal trips we play 'Where did this screw on the floor come from?' When we arrive at a destination and walk inside...

heck i find loose screws in GXV all the time. it does not matter what you drive/pull. the road vibrations will find a way to defeat any tech sooner or later.

The only thing that ever fell apart on my teardrop (10.5 years) was one of the window latch thingies. That trailer was really really sturdy.
