the 6.5' camper was allowed to leave the shop today ;-) Still waiting for the windows but as far as prototyping goes we seen and figured out what we needed. Loving it!

Just want to chime in and say, I really think you guys should make one for the 5.5 foot bed (F150 / 1500 etc). It is a very popular bed size and nothing exists for it. I know the 5 foot one will fit, but it is likely not taking full advantage of the width between wheel wells and also misses out on an extra 6 inches.

Thank you :)

These look amazing! I really see the potential for a wet bath on the 6.5' if the entry door is offset to the left or right.

What is the length of the cabover? I noticed you mentioned you will be posting the CAD for these soon. I'm looking forward to it.

Cab over depth is 48" . Although the 8' is a lot bigger than the 5' (mostly due to weight consideration for smaller trucks) fitting a bath is still tricky (but possible) The door will be centred as a standard, sadly, can't change that.

Ah, are you cutting the door openings at manufacturing in China?

The honeycomb frp panels you used on your van are inspiration for a lightweight wet bath/wet entrance.

The door will be cut at the assembly place. In theory the door can be moved off center. But when you look at the picture it really wouldn't make a big difference. It also comes down to workflow and assembly process. Each company will have their own "system" set up. Best if you chat with them about a custom solution. If they do it, that great, but we can not treat this like a custom build.

Are the 6.5 & 8’ campers wider than the 5.5’? I assume that explains the weight difference.

I really need the dimensions/CAD before I can place an order. Any movement there?

These look great. I was surprised that I could order one from the Overland Adventure Truck site, but I saw zero specs on things like cabover size and floor width, cabover height from truck bed etc.

I saw somewhere that you will have a flatbed version, how soon? It would seem to be simpler and faster to build as you can skip the 4 90 degree extrusions for the fender wells on the pickup version?

Thanks!

Today and Tomorrow we are placing the campers on several other trucks. After that, we will publish the drawings. Yes, the 6.6 and 8' share the same overall dimensions with the exception of the length. These are also wider and taller than the 5' and will NOT fit the 1/2 ton trucks.

Great news! All dimensions important for proper fitment turned out great. The 1/2 tons 5’ camper will probably get a big brother at 7-8’ length. It fit perfect into the 5’ Tacoma bed but with the 6’ it looked a bit lost. With its current empty weight of only 510lb/230kg it will only ad roughly another 60lb for the 8‘ length. This will make it way more livable for small families.
the 3/4 and 1 ton truck camper fit excellent also. Will increase the overall interior height by 8’ to offer more headroom in the cab over. We made the prototype a bit lower to get a visual on a lower profile. Still a great interior feel but a taller alcove head room will be beneficial for most potential customers.
One thing that stood out: every truck and model year is slightly different! Therefore it paid off to give more clearance between drivers cab and alcove.

Cool beans. (y)

A thought for ya.... from experience I know that the large gap between cab and camper is a MPG killer.
Might be worthwhile to offer a couple different length "skirts" or deflectors to take up the gap a bit as needed based upon application.
