I am thinking of replacing the Trojan t145's with Lithium, 200 or maybe 300 AMP/Hr

Also, if you remember the life system being a little funky still. Page 5. I dont want to rebuild the entire system, my brother has a FWC. Im starting to think about removing the lift system in it, and adding the folding board system FWC uses. Nothing to go wrong, easy to replace, work on if needed, and you can also just have one side up at a time if you ever wanted to do that. I would have to cut window holes, but it would be a two piece board front and rear with three piano hinges. When up the boards would sit on one another with the weight on the frame of the camper. With the folding wall for the bathroom, i may have to get creative, as I dont believe I would be able to do full width there.

is that crazy?

I had a Hawk (short overhang cabover) and those roofs are heavy enough that most retrofitted lifting struts and FWC made them standard. Mine was right at the limit of what was comfortable to lift. Having said that, think about how heavy that roof is and what it really takes to lift it manually. The simplicity is great, but lifting the front portion of the camper roof is the hard part and would be even more so with an extended (north/south) bed.

Jack that is a great point.

I wonder if I used 20-30 pound struts?

I should be back from this contract sometime in August.

I want to tape seal all seams w/ Eterna bond 4inch. Like I did with the full time fiver.

And im thinking 200amp/hr Lithium, and a third 100 watt panel. 30amp mppt charge controller, 1200 watt pure sine wave inverter and converter.

Sorry, I got back safe and sound. And have been knocking projects out and hiding from the world. 120 days straight, is a long time. And 3 weeks prior to that w/o a day off.

Resealed the roof( overkill for sure, but I like it) also added a third 100 watt flex panel.

Added 200amp/hr lithium battery.

New solar controller MPPT, 30amp.

And a new inverter/ converter. 1250 watts w/ 3K surge for 30 seconds. A few quick pics

I also eternabond sealed the roof overhang.

I cleaned up that corner, so it's all shiny white now. Used flex seal white paint. ( no surprise, I love that stuff and it's treated me well)

I also wired up the weather station/ tempature monitor. Will monitor the basement, outside, inside, and fridge.

The inverter/ and charge controller are huge- way larger than I expected. But I made it work.

Also added a USB outlet there, and one under the dinete.

Yes it is. I have the color one in my fifth wheel, works great.

I recomend the dark themed one, as the display on the other one is extremely bright. It's hard to tell w/ the camera, this one is a lot dimmer, and it's a good thing. You can also set, high and low temp alarms individually for each of the monitored zones.

It's spendy, but gives me piece of mind and I spend a lot of time in cold.

Also, I wired it up to the battery. A 12v source will literally cook it....ask me how I know. I can provide the link for the little stepdown transformer if you are going to do the same.

Some projects suck..

Replacing the electric dump valve, that is in the " basement". Extremely limited space, that my arms don't like.

My nephew whom was helping with it, broke his arm. Soo she sits.

That valve has been, probably the biggest pain, troublesome project to date.

On another note: pulled the old mattress. It's going away.

Will be replacing the sleep system w/ my NEMO double sleeping bag, and dual self inflating insulated pad. Gotta love pro deals.

So far new sleep system is amazing!!

Each side can be inflated to a different level, they have T ties to keep them together. They fit into the sleeve of the double bag.

I love nemo gear.

And the Steve has internal T ties to keep them from climbing...if you are ...climbing.

Weighed the old foam, it was 40ibs.

And they are self inflating. I was worried about elevation change, and air expansion, posted a thread on it.

I'll just leave the valve opened when traveling, should prevent any problems.

Added a hole/door in the propane compartment. The tank in this is pretty small.

When the camper is on the truck, I have 2 bbq sized propane tanks. Usually when I'm staying somewhere for a week or so, like the dog sled race.

This will allow me to run the hose out, keep the door closed and into the extra tanks.
