Long road to nowhere.

Unfortunately nearly all of the sandhill region of Nebraska is privately owned. There are some national wildlife refuges up near Valentine, NE and 2 national forest tracts but for the most part it's no trespassing. At the western edge of the state there is Fort Robinson State Park which has a pretty large designated wilderness area. The terrain is a little different but it is beautiful as well.

As a small antithesis to my own Long Road today, it abruptly ended ?

No idea where the bridge went. (I recall it being bridged and/or filled a decade ago.)
