Steel rims . 385 65 x 22.5 Bridgestone M748 tyres.

So far ( 60000 km ) very happy. Nice and quiet. Not off road Tires but good on bad or ripio roads. At least another 50000 km left in them .

22.5 Tires appear to be a lot easier to source in some countries than the 20 inch

On the green one. How have you engineered the spare tyre carrier. Does it tilt forward or do you have to take the tyre off the tip the cab.

Do you have issues with air flow, especially at high altitude where enginectempreture management is critical.

Love to know your findings as putting it On the front is an interesting idea

Below is a link to Bill Caid's (Green 1017A) webpage that has the spare tire carrier build.
It is a very clean set-up. You pull a locking/safety pin, then you can rotate a handle 180° that disengages locking paws on both supports. The hydraulic pump (Bill reused this from his prior spare tire crane set-up), is controlled by a remote switch (winch style) so you can operate it from the front of the truck. It is a very smooth operation. Also so easy and quick to operate that it is no issue to move for simple tasks like checking 'under the hood', tilting the cab, or cleaning the window. Which is makes a great stand for.

No issues so far with increased temps.
