Great looking form factor and I will be ordering one, but I am disappointed to see a new release still not support the 2017 FCC changes to shared FRS/GMRS (0.5W) channels 8-14, am I misunderstanding some requirement that makes these mobiles ineligible for those channels? I assume these are a sealed unit and not capable of user firmware update later on? Thanks @MidlandUSA

What are the dimensions on that mic? Does it share the same mount as the MXT115?
The mic is 4.5 inches long x 2.5 inches wide (at its widest) x 1.75 inches deep (w/ micmount bracket). It does share the same mount at the MXT115.

The FCC prohibits products with a removable antenna such as the MXT275 from transmitting on FRS channels 8-14.

I don't see anything in the GMRS guidelines about a non-removable antenna on those channels, however part 95.1763 para d. states: " 467 MHz interstitial channels. Only hand-held portable units may transmit on these 7 channels. The channel center frequencies are: 467.5675, 467.5875, 467.6125, 467.6375, 467.6625, 467.6875, and 467.7125 MHz. "

Done....
Now what to do with that MXT115....
Looks like you'll have to buy an additional rig! :)

Valid point. Not sure it will look right in our Series 1. My other disco already has one...and the upgrading in my LR3 today was simple with the only change the need to use RJ45 to extend the mic vice RJ12. Great little unit for this application.
