Now that I have lift/jack points at the rock rails and rear hitch, was time to add a 48" HiLift. Fits nicely next to the RoadShower.

Did a RAM Mount change to the iPad setup. Was using a X-style previously. This one is much more stable, and lower on the dash; no hood corner vision blockage anymore.

I live near you! I’ve driven past your rig many times and was always curious avoid. Super cool to find your build thread.

Thanks for the compliment. It has been an interesting build process. My previous 07 JKU was far easier to build. Everything you want is readily available and mostly driveway bolt-on. LOL. Are you still working on the Lexus? If you see me, wave me down.

Will do! Still in the Lexus. The 200-series forum is a bit more lively on IH8MUD so I post more there: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/traviss-pnw-lx570.1010267/

So, this happened. Started studying to get my license. My work radio supplier showed up with this. Motivation has been achieved.

If you haven't checked it out already check out the "Ham Test Prep" app. It's a flashcard based study app for all different levels of the test. I used this when I got my Tech and it was a pretty big help. I'm on Android so I know it's there, not sure if there is an iOS version or not.

Really nice build. I have a stock WJ and am getting inspired. +1 on the Hitchgate, I’ve had some problems with mine but have been generally happy with it.

For the ham radio, look for a local “ham cram” course to get your Technician’s license in one easy day, no studying required. I’m not sure if the radio you posted does it but I have my Yaesu 8900 set up as a remote head with the radio installed in the cargo area. Works great.

Thank you!! I've been really happy with the HitchGate; little to no movement at all. I did add a hitch stabilizer as well, to lock it in the receiver as much as possible.

My radio does have the detachable headunit as well. Haven't begun tackling the install yet, but soon. I will look into the ham cram course as well. Thanks for the insight.

Say, where did you get the pet barrier and puppy hammock? We have 3 mutts that we transport in our WJ and I’ve been looking for a good solution.
