Excellent buy! Congrats on the upgrade!

As far as the SMOD, I'd do the bypass for now and look at trans cooler options down the line. They handle being bypassed fairly well, at least in my experience, and it's such an easy and simple job to do for the amount of worrying it saves you that it's totally worthwhile.

Good call. I'll look into doing it soon as I would like some piece of mind, but soon to follow would be a radiator or cooler to bring cooling back to the trans. Even if it is fine now, no cooling seems to me like an alternate way to nuke the trans at some point down the road as well.
