VOTD: Mark Smith, The Jeep Jamboree, and Expedicion De Las Americas

There are few people who have pushed the limits of a four-wheel drive vehicle and its community as much as Mark Smith. He’s not only responsible for the record breaking Expedicion De Las Americas, which traveled from the Southernmost extent of South America to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska—through, not around the Darien Gap in 1978-79—but also the iconic Jeep Jamboree.

Mark Smith was recently featured in the Winter 2012 issue of Overland Journal in the new Living Legends column written by Editor-in-Chief Chris Collard.

A special thanks to Sinuhe Xavier for putting together this video.
