Aether Apparel introduces two sweet-looking adventure motorcycling jackets
Aether is well-known for their refined, stylish interpretations of classic classic field gear. They have applied the same approach to their new motorcycle jackets, featuring high-quality materials and integrated protection. I prefer the conservative and clean style, with a nod to classic motorcycle jackets of the 1920s. Thankfully, they have avoided obnoxious appointments that scream brand, 'funktion' and some unintelligible acronym like GEX (Garment Extreme Xtreme). It is a rarity to find modern, high-quality outdoor equipment that works as advertised, but still looks timeless.
The Skyline is the more traditional option, reflecting more classic wax-canvas touring jackets, including large-volume hip pockets and a tall collar. Intended for adventure touring, the Skyline made with a 3-layer abrasion resistant shell and built in pad inserts. The skyline is available in Jet Black, Graphite, Total Eclipse and Discovery Green.
These jackets will be available in 2013 and we look forward to testing them on the dirt and reporting back on real-world performance.
Note: Their blog is worth a look. A wonderfully eclectic view of things in the world that interest their staff.
