Land Cruising Adventures

One of the amazing attributes of the overlanding community is the eagerness to share in the visceral experience of traveling. When overlanders meet, be it around a campfire, in a roadside cafe, or within the cyber-walls of the internet, the exchange of stories and experiences is fascinating and serves as the muse for continued wanderings. I recently happened upon one of the most amazing websites in all of overlanding. Land Cruising Adventures is the name of the website and the moniker for the overland adventure as lived by Karin-Marijke and Coen.

Dutch by citizenship, this duo now calls the road home, and those along the route their neighbors. Traveling since 2003, they have covered tens of thousands of miles in their Toyota Land Cruiser BJ45, and while their pace is slower than some, they’re clearly doing things right.

Their website is a captivating collection of images, stories, videos, and musings about life on the road and the textured experiences they’ve enjoyed. All of us at Expedition Portal fully value every aspect of travel, and the images and descriptions of the food Karin-Markijke and Coen have encountered are mouth watering. Coen is a master photographer able to convey the nuances of a day on the road in a way few can. Not just a journal of their travels, the site also contains a number of useful travel tips, maps, and other helpful resources. Their listing of other travelers they’ve encountered along the way is fascinating, and reminds us all just how many people are out there, on the road, living the dream, putting in the miles, and enjoying the good life––overlanding.

If you love travel as much as we do, you simply must visit this site. Settle in and get comfy, it’s a lot to take in and well worth the time.
