This image was taken during the ascent to the Cerro Gordo Silver Mine. In the background is the Owens Valley Lake Bed and the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. I had visualized this shot on a scouting trip up this road in the snow a few years ago and was finally able to realize the image on this trip. I shot this with my Nikon D3 and Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens @ 70mm, 1/1250s @ f/11 @ ISO400, through the sunroof of my 100 series Land Cruiser as we led the group up the mountain.
