Gear Scout: Vitesse Moto Boots

When buying riding boots there are but two options. You can buy a stylish leather boot, wearable around town with moderate crash protection, or a clunky plastic-buckled boot with full impact-protection. French company Vitesse decided to mix things up, with amazing results. I have been using their work-boot-inspired Hunt model for several months. It has a full lace-up front for a comfortable fit, comes in beautiful brown American Saddle leather, and contains Vitesse’s patented V-cockpit system, which gives the rider rigid ankle and foot protection in a crash, yet it’s still comfortable enough to wear out for a night on the town with friends.

Small touches like discreet ankle-sliders, and sticky mid-soles to grip a foot-peg show that these guys are serious riders as well. While not the first choice for riding across the desert, if we wanted one pair of footwear to wear on a month-long trip across the US or Europe, these would be at the top of the short-list.
