Default The "Off Road 'Kinda-Sorta' Teardrop" build.

This is the basis for the trailer.

I hope it's sturdy enough, time will tell. If it's not the camper box can be unbolted so the trailer can be reinforced or a custom built trailer can be put under it. More later .

Thanks, here's a few more. I tried to make it match the Jeep as much as possible.

What are your plans for skinning it? What about the interior? I really dig it, keep up the good work.

As it sits now getting ready to strip it down and do bodywork and paint. Also waiting on a Lock-N-Roll.
Inside is insulated and wired, still have to cover the inside walls and build cabinets etc. Has to be on the road by Aug.28th.

Are you going to just paint the plywood?

Have you looked into the fiberglass sheets you can get for RV useage? I would bet it would hold up WAY better in the long run. Just a thought.

I had planned on taping the joints and using a marine epoxy, although with the "Gorilla Glue" and screws it should be strong enough. Automotive paint to match the Jeep to finish. A friend of mine talked to a painter he knows who suggested 2 to 3 layers of oil based exterior Kilz and then the auto paint. Sure would be easier. I don't intend on dragging it over the Rubicon or anything, just lots of BLM roads out west and light trails, so the epoxy and taping the seams might be overkill.
