Default Return Of The Trailer

As you know the AT trailer that went missing was located in Fort Myers Florida last week. The trailer is at 1speed’s house waiting to be picked up. During the week we formulated a plan for recovering the trailer. The plan aims to including as many members of the Expo and Off-Road community as possible along the return route. The journey will be a fund raising event in support of The Disabled Explorers.

Here are the team of players;
Driver: wagner_joe
Coordinator: jcbrandon
Fundraiser: 1leglance
Trailer prep: 1speed
Support: The Members at Large

DISABLED EXPLORERS; www.disabledexplorers.com
A new resource working to empower the disabled to undertake their own vehicle enhanced back country exploration. Offering Ride-A-Long events, Driver & Recovery Training, Gear Reviews, and Guided Trips.

FUND RAISING:
It’s a 2600 mile return trip from Fort Myers, Florida to Upland California. We are asking that you pledge, or gather pledges at a rate of $1.00 per mile, you can sponsor the trip for however many miles you want. For example sponsor the trip for 30 miles at $1.00 per mile, or 120 miles, it’s up to you to choose the number of miles for sponsorship. All funds collected will be donated to The Disabled Explorers.

1leglance is in charge of fund raising.

MEET & GREET:
As Joe works his way west with the trailer arrangements for Meet & Greets at every location he stops at will be organized. It’s a great excuse to get together, help a worthy cause, meet Joe, and see the infamous trailer.
jcbrandon will be organizing the Meet & Greets as the journey progresses.

PROPOSED ITINERARY:
At this point in time Joe is looking at arriving in Fort Myers on Thursday 6/5 and be back on the West Coast, or at least Phoenix, by 6/10. That gives us Friday 6th, Saturday 7th, Sunday 8th, and Monday 9th for Meet and Greets across the country.

If you want to help out on the cross country journey we’d love you hear from you. If you’re interested in coordinating Meet & Greets please contact jcbrandon via PM. If you want to help out with fund raising contact 1leglance via PM or lance@disabledexplorers.com.

I know Joe will be pulling some long days driving, so any help with recommendations for places to stay, if you know a good message therapist (Joe’s a happily married man ), or be on the standby for any mechanical emergencies we’d appreciate it.

Excellent! Let's hear your bid! Remember, it's a fundraiser. We've got to see some dead presidents on the table.

Thank you, Greenhorn. I'll meet your pledge and go the next hundred miles.

Hey, Fort Myers folk. Where should we have the launch event? And who will make a bid for it?

Let me know how many people we are talking and exactly what day/time for the send off. If it's not too many we can launch from the house. Depending on the crowd we may need another venue.

I'm in for $100 to start. Not that it really matters, but is this a "registered charity" that people can use for a tax deduction?

The bon voyage event is coming together for either the evening of Thursday, June 5 or the morning of Friday, June 6.

Thanks for offering your place, Jim. And for your pledge. But I bet our community in Florida is big enough to need a larger venue. Probably a much larger venue. Waddya say, Florida? Can you do it?

Please tell me that you are going to take pictures of the trailer by roadside attractions, etc.
