Ok, so the only real research I've done on this subject is to read through my friend's owner's manual about 8 times- but what's up with mileage intervals on the oil change for the 4-cyl Tacoma? Neither of us can find anything. Have we lost our minds? Defective owner's manual?

thanks-

and yes, we've been doing them at 3k anyway.

5k for the v6 according to dealer that I take mine to(Victory Toyota in Seaside). I talked to them as well about synthetic and Toyota's spec is for 5k for non-synthetic.

I have the 100k warranty, so I take it to one of the better dealers around here.

BTW welcome to the forum, I see this is one of your first posts!

Thanks. Nice to be here.

So is your manual entirely silent on the matter, too?

In my Owners Manual Supplement (seperate book with info on warranty & maintenance for 05 models) it says all Toyota vehicles fall under a 6 month/8000 km interval. Thats what about 5000 miles. All the maintenance appears to be the same with the exception of the spark plugs on the 4. For your truck it recommends changing them only every 192,000 km or 120,000 miles. The L4's are iridium, the V6's are standard.
