This link is for the website of Jon Christensen -- If you ever visit her I hope you don't mind the exposure Jon!
I know Jon from trial riding. Jon is in Phoenix AZ and one of the cool things he does with his rig is load it up with a telescope and drive out into the middle of the desert to stargaze. He has set up a camera to his telescope and the pictures you will see on his website are absolutely incredible. I had no idea you could get outerspace pictures like this with equipment that can fit in the back of your car! :Wow1:

Thanks for kind words, Scott and Perry!
I'll just add one link for now, which is, in my opinion, the best Colorado site around, by far. AroundColorado.com (http://www.aroundcolorado.com/) was built by my good friend, Jesse Speer (his personal site is linked within). Plenty of high quality Colorado adventure reports have been submitted by its users, which range from hiking, camping and driving.

Scott, this site isn't entirely outdoor photography, but they do have forum sections on outdoor photography. There is lots of good info and discussion here with a forum, articles, and reviews. Anyway, I think it's a great site that you may want to add to the list.

www.naturephotographers.net has lots of information, but most importantly regional subgroups, one being www.colorado.naturephotographers.net. There is also a Southwest group that has been very helpful to me in the past. Want to know where to go for sunrise or if the trees are turning yet? Just ask.

There are some great Colorado and Utah trail pictures at
http://www.eunos.com/keith/postcards/index.htm
Most are from San Juans and the Moab area. Probably the best views of the Black Bear Pass road above Telluride. Most driven in a vintage Land Rover.
I especially like page 8 on the Black Bear Rd

mods feel free to take this down if it's not kosh to post my own site. i have a number of pages with colorado information, and three with general camping and photography hints and tips.
five steps to better photography: http://www.aspen-graphics.com/fivesteps.htm
everyone has a camping list. here's mine: http://www.aspen-graphics.com/camping-list.htm
some lessons-learned: http://www.aspen-graphics.com/fall-camping.htm
gear guide: http://www.aspen-graphics.com/gear.htm
also, someone i knew a bit growing up is michael forsberg. he's now a known wildlife photographer based in nebraska and has a fun section on his site about "life on the road" with hints and tips, lessons learned, and quite a bit of humor. i just checked and that page isn't happy today, but here is the link.
http://www.michaelforsberg.com/lifeontheroad.html
you can see the content by using archive.org. here's that link: http://web.archive.org/web/20041022234122/http://www.michaelforsberg.com/lifeontheroad.html

How about the late Galen Rowell's website? He was a true master of outdoor photography and his site is a testament to it.

This is a favorite of mine: www.cambridgeincolour.com
It's dedicated almost entirely to nighttime photography, so not exactly landscape or "outdoors", but close. There are a bunch of really good (and very technical) tutorials, as well as an amazing gallery of long-exposure night shots.

If you shoot Canon equipment, this forum is based specifically for those of us who have the addiction to the white lenses:jump:
Photography on the Net or POTN (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/index.php)
Dusty Lens Photography (http://www.dustylens.com/) - Steve & Bobbie Bingham are good people who love traveling. Steve used to race off-raod motorcycles and is a great guy to sit around the campfire sipping on a cold one talking about the good ol' days before his feet went arthritic
Ophry's Photography (http://www.ophrysphotography.co.uk/index.htm) - Site is filled with useful tutorials and info about this field
I wasnt sure if anyone wanted or needed this info, but if you're looking for gear or equipment, the best place to use as a base is B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/) out of New York. They have EVERYTHING and are good with shipping and returns
I wont provide a link to it, but if you're interested in browsing our own galleries, we've been on the road traveling for over two years non-stop and have ammased quite the collection of Stock Travel Photography
I'll be checking back to see if anyone has added anything new to this thread. I already had everyone of these links in My Favorites section
I spend waaaayyyyy too much time on the Outdoor Photography Forum, Fred Miranda and POTN! Now I found this forum, good Lord, when am I going to have time to travel!

I came late to this topic, but I see there's a recent post. Let me second the luminous-landscape.com site. Also I see that Alain Briot is a contributing editor of the Nature Photographers Online Magazine. Here is the page about him; http://www.naturephotographers.net/staff/abriot.html
His book, Mastering Landscape Photography is excellent. It is not for beginners, however it is very well done and thoroughly thought out artistic thought process that results in moving your landscape photography to the next level. He is also a contributor/moderator at Luminous Landscape.
If you are a Nikon shooter, this is an excellent site with lens reviews; http://www.naturfotograf.com/index2.html
That link will take you directly to the lens review area.
Best regards,
CO David

TPN or the Travel Photographers Network (http://www.travelphotographers.net/)is a good place to share, get critique, or simply shmooze with some the the best travel photogs out there.

Tony Di Zinno's (http://www.dizinno.co.uk) skill is something to aspire to as well. Some really cool adventure racing and mountaineering coverage as well.
There's also a great audio interview with Tony at The Candid Frame (http://thecandidframe.blogspot.com/2008/01/candid-frame-47-tony-di-zinno.html)

Outdoor Idaho, Idaho's PBS outdoor show, produced a show titled Chasing the Light (http://idahoptv.org/outdoors/shows/chasingthelight/index.cfm) which featured some of Idaho's premier landscape photographers. My favorites are Mark Lisk (www.liskgallery.com) and Alison Meyer (http://www.alisonmeyerphotography.com/home.cfm) I own Mark's book Idaho Impressions (http://www.amazon.com/Idaho-Impressions-Mark-Lisk/dp/1558683143/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1297463531&sr=1-2).
