Jeep has released more official photography of the new 2007 Jeep Wrangler. These are really fantastic, high-quality photos of the new Jeeps in the wild. There are too many to post, so here are some of my faves. Enjoy! :)

I've never been a huge Jeep guy - but I really do like that 4-door Rubi...
Are those pics at the Jeep website? Looks like there is a 4-door hardtop behind the Red 2-door in the water crossing - I'd like to see what the hardtop looks like.

That's interesting....I thought all the 07' units had only hard tops with removable panels. So they are keeping a rag top version.....

Time to start saving. Let's see, if I put a dollar in a jar evey day I could buy one before too long.
Check out those tires. Wonder if those will see retail shelves or just a prototype.

that looks so awesome, I have to say. I think it looks goofy w/o the roof (but I bet really fun all open like that).
Is a CRD engine avail?
Very cool photos!
I saw a four door X at the local dealer this morning. It didn't look nearly as cool as the Rubicons do in all the photos. To be honest, it kind of looked like junk to me but I didn't get out and really look at it. Not sure if it's because it's a stripped down model but I don't remember the previous generation X's looking having that same first impression on me.
As for the tires on the Rubi's, I think they're BFG's with a different center lug pattern. I've heard on the local Jeep board that there was/is a problem with the tires and it's caused a shipping delay.

I only like the look of the 4-doors in Rubi trim. Hopefully I can be satisfied with a 2-door X though. I'm really anxious to hear how well the traction control works off road at limiting slip and if it's enough of a substitute for lockers for me.

Looks like those Rubi's are at the Safari park in FL than in the wild.
Those 4 door Rubi's sure look good, it's something to consider for our family in the future! Definitely more versatile than a 2 door FJ!
Does anyone know the going price for these 4 door Rubi's?

Dam, I want one in a CRD!
Then I want to go to Africa with it.

Yeah - the CDR would be killer - I'm surprised they didn't think about a diesel option.
Reading on the website - it looks pretty well sorted out for a factory vehicle - HD alternator, available rock sliders, decent flex, and of course the standard lockers on the Rubis...not sure why they are all about the 17" rims, though. Obviously it is for looks, but it totally limits tire selection (and makes tire price go through the roof).
It is too bad I still have 160k to go on the Trooper before I get to 200...it just gives me time to save up for one of those 4-Door Rubis, and gives them the time to come up with a Diesel...
...of course, the other options are to win the lottery, or get a better paying job - those would work, too.

Bootzilla, I'm right behind you. :)
Though I only have 70k miles till 200k! I still haven't found a higher paying job and my last lottery ticket was a dud.

Finally got a chance to see one of these up close yesterday, and have to say that I walked away with generally a positive feeling. About anything I don't like can and probably will be easy to change after the aftermarket is moving full swing.
I am really pleased with just how much space the 4 door has inside. Easily enough to carry the family and a decent bit of gear just about anywhere I wanna go.
Though in general, some of the plastic in the interior looks and feels a bit on the cheap side, overall, I like the interior, and the seats feel comfortable.
I like the look of the exterior, and I was surprised that as roomy as the new JK is, and as much bigger it is supposed to be, it did not make my TJ look small. I think that save for the decreased breakover angle of the JK Unlimited, I could easily get the JK down any trail I have run in my TJ.
You can tell just by looking that the frame is a beefier frame. Nice job. Suspension looks good, too.
On the downside, though, I do not care for the fender flares or the bumpers, they look and feel cheap, but the aftermarket will remedy that in short order, I am sure. Poison Spyder appears to already be working on metal flares, and several companies are and will be developing bumpers.
I am not fond of the location of the gas tank, but I know that it was the government, not Jeep that made that call. I think a BL and MML with a belly up pan, tucking the tank and the TC up in the frame rails will be a great move. Again, aftermarket to the rescue.
I am very interested to see the 40 Gig nav system that is supposed to be out later this year, and like most everyone else, I am holding my breath for a diesel.
I certainly hope that the nav system can be ordered without the optional power windows and locks.
I do think that ordered the right way, and outfitted the right way, this is going to be a hard package to beat.
I think it is just a matter of time before one lands in my driveway. I am not too crazy about buying first year production runs, and of course waiting to see what happens with the diesel, but I think that within the next year to two years...one will be mine. :wings:
I would really love to drive one, but knowing that I won't be buying for at least another year, I just about hate to ask for a test drive....
You didn't happen to look at the rear shock mounts did?

Probably not a show-stopper, but it looks kinda booty-fab to me.
The local dealer did end up selling their rescue green '07 this week...complete with 18" bling wheels and low profile street tires!

The rear shock mount is better than the TJ's. It still leaves alot to be desired though. Happen to know if they are still using a bar pin up top?
I thought the TJ shock mounts were fairly even with the bottom of the axle tube, but I admit that it's been a while since I've looked at the shock mount on a TJ.
I haven't had a chance to go over a new Wrangler in person yet, wish I could answer the bar pin question.

There are presumed benefits to the new shock position. Since the shocks are moved further outboard, and closer to the wheels, they should be slightly less prone to getting hung up on the terrain. Also, the "sea leg" orientation actually aids vehicle stability by widening the stance at the axle, thereby providing better ride control ... aaannd I kinda stole that info. :coffee:
Here is my real life contribution to this thread. I almost lost a flip-flop getting this picture! :p

Depends what trim level. Jeep.com has pricing information out there now. A 4 door Rubi supposedly starts around $28K. With the right rebates and such, a nice one should be able to be had for mid-20's...

I went up the dealer about 2 weeks ago. THey had 6 4 doors on the lot. I was really pleased with the interior room both for the driver and rear passengers. I would definetly consider buying one of these. I kind of look at it as a cherokee replacement in the 4 door version. Visibility was much better then an fj and the rubi model will be very capable. I would think this could be an excellent platform for an expo rig in the 4 door. + add the nicety of a convertible top when conditions are good.
Sticker on the 4wd non rubi was 22k which I thought was a deal.
