Hi, Will an older 1993 Four Wheel Ranger fit on a 2005 Dodge 2500 Ram? I believe the Ranger was/is built for smaller trucks. But since it has an 8' floor plan, would it fit a full size truck. I'm looking at that used one for sale and would hate to let it slip trough my fingers, if it would work. Thanks, CC.

seen this?

looks like they recommend a a Hawk for your truck from my understanding.

Have the seller MEASURE it all over and send you the dimensions to be sure.

good luck!

You could probably make it fit, but I would not recommend it.
The Ranger is only 69" wide, so probably slightly narrower than your truck, other than looking a bit odd this means that you will need extended brackets for camper jacks. Also the bed in a Ranger is north-south rather than the east-west design of hawk/granby models - the ranger bed takes up most of the floor space of the camper when extended for sleeping. You would also have to build up the truck bed about 6 inches so the Ranger clears the sides of the truck box.
I would wait for a Hawk if possible.
You could e-mail Stan at 4wheel and get a more knowledgeable and detailed answer, if you are seriously considering this.

Cheers
Mark

I replied to your PM but for the record, Mark/OutbacKamper explained very well the drawbacks to putting a mid-size truck camper on a full size truck.
