Baja Air Travel with Longboard

We're leaving for Baja this sunday and flying down to Lareto. Its going to be small so I'm bring my 9'3'' Takayama Model T and a fish. I'm borrowing a Santa Moncia Hardcase thats 9'9''. The length limit is 9'7''. I dont mind paying extra. Has anyone had this experience with Alaska Airline and had their board turned away?
