For those interested in exploring beyond where the road ends, a sea kayak opens up limitless opportunites. And a folding sea kayak opens up even more, since it can be stowed in a car trunk or flown on an airline. When you reach the beach you can assemble an expedition-worthy craft in a half hour or less.

Here is an excellent site to learn more:

I've never yet owned a folding kayak, although I've reviewed nearly all of them at one time or another. But I think my next sea kayak will be a folder, most likely a Long Haul MKI, which has the beauty of the German Klepper's ash frame and canvas deck with several noteworthy modifications.

Great link! Also to others interested there is another thread on the folding kayaks here (http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=317&highlight=folding+kayak).

I have toyed with a Folbot Kiawah folding kayak, after that thread, but was scared off by the $1600 price tag. Their Cooper Model might work for a folding sea kayak.

Also there is a good review of the Bergans ALLY 560 Folding Sea Kayak here (http://users.frii.com/uliasz/weblog/C1411531448/E583137409/)
